I obtain a result of :
Eng-D7
Maths-D7
Science-D7
POA-C6
Combined.H-C6
MT-B3
I got 29 points for my l1r4.
I had appeal for courses at RP :
Design for interactive
Info tech
IT service management
which are not so popular .
is my appeal chances higher or zero ?
Or should i take the other longer route from ite ?
I am only eligible for higher nitec courses but failure of my english can't get me into any management courses .And no matter where i ended up , i'll still retake my "O" as a private candidate .
Please give me some advise .
Your grade is so bad. Its a fail grade for ur info. You will not get to anywhere! Think for ur future!=) Good luck!
wah seh....
want to help oso a bit hard sia...........................
TS, if u get 28 points, u can go to Nursing. thans the official max COP.
if not, all other courses got a maximum COP of 26pts.. ur 29pts qualifies for ITE only.. best to retake your o levels, especially English
Maths D7 can only apply for NP's Early Childhood Dip programme riao.
English D7, L1R2B2 below 26 can still get Engineering. W/o Maths, you're dead
early childhood so no QC one???
The Best way now is to go ite and retake at the same time ... but i'm currently hoping that Rp accept me ):

afaik it does not critically need Maths.
Eh... your chances of appealing practically ZERO...
I would suggest if you are really interested in going to a poly (since you practically failed for the past 16-17 years based on your results), then please work harder and retake your O level. It would be hard since no one is tutoring you, but if you still remember what your teachers taught you and then work on from there by yourself, put in maximum effort, keep practicing and practicing, you will be able to make it. You can study in ITE and revise for your O levels simultaneously, if you put in effort.
Otherwise, you can go to ITE NITEC and then work hard from there. Going to ITE does not means its the end. ITE in fact has many outstanding students and some of them are just as successful as those from poly and uni, and maybe even more successful. IF your results are good, then from ITE, you can move to Poly and then to Uni. The only turn off of this route is that you take longer than others. But it is still a route for you, and if your are determine enough, you can still succeed.
Therefore, since you now probably regret on not studying for your O levels, and getting this type of shitty results, I seriously hope that you would reflect on your past actions and think about what have you achieved in life so far. Do you really think that all the playing and fooling around in the past is worth it given the situation that you are in now? If you have seriously understand, then I hope that you will buck up and start working hard now. It is never too late to start working hard. You can do it, you have to help yourself!!
i think my guess is right, almost all of my ITE friends all went to rp...... and ts is appealing to rp only, is it me or is rp really the lowest standard poly in singapore. all cannot get into other poly all go rp
Go ITE la. Your grade so poor. If you insists to go poly. U will eventually suffer. My grade better than u last time i also go ITE. ahah.
In the meantime, brush up your ENGLISH pls. If you plan to go University, English is certainly an essential medium. U need it badly to understand what the leaturer is teaching about. Trust me. I from ITE to University.

If you got into RP, high chance you may not fail... cos PBL system... just pretend can liao...
fail english fail maths is as good as fail O levels.. retaking is a better option if you dont wana enter ite.
I also got a D7 for my english when i took my O levels for the first time.
Personally i knew that i am not someone who is bad in english and i also knew that if i tried a bit harder with a different learning style i can pass it.
I studied full time at home with a private tutor and with some very good assesment books. With no teacher breathing down my neck forcing me to do unnecessary homework, i actually found myself doing better. I studied because i wanted to and not because i had to.
I more that passed my english and now i have already graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechic with a diploma in Accountancy.
Your O level is one of those things that determinds your life so if you personally know you can do better that try again and get into the course you really want to go to next year.
Going into ITE and studing for O level at the same time is not a good idea in my opinion. Most of my friends who did that got so tired and worn out that they end up failing O levels again
Btw, i think joining a toastmasters club is an excellent way to improve your english speaking and writing. The speakers usually have excellent storys to share which you can use for your composition later. Even if you are underage you should go and just sit in every month
Let me add that my friends who worked part time while retaking their O levels also didn't do well. Those who did well were really those who gave all they had into their studies and were very determind to pass and get into the course they wanted the next year
Your two main subjects english and maths fail, really very hard la...especially maths. I suggest retaking too if you really want to go poly. But no harm trying to apply but seriously...they look at your english and maths first.

Ah, i think you're eligible for enlistment the moment you hit 16 and a half.
