A 16-year-old girl was arrested Monday on suspicion of spiking a female schoolmate's drink with an unknown substance that caused an adverse reaction, police said.
The suspect was also arrested on suspicion of threatening the girl after the incident.
According to Motomiya Police Station, a prefectural high school student from Nihonmatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, allegedly colluded with two female schoolmates to introduce a substance smelling like chlorine into a PET bottle belonging to a schoolmate at about 9 a.m. on May 30 last year. The girl suffered an adverse reaction to the substance.
On June 15 last year, the suspect allegedly threatened the victim by putting a note into her locker reading: "I wish you were dead. I'll poison you next time."
