How you all take the pictures then the camera dont focus just on one point?
Because when I take the photo of a car, the camera only focuses on one point, then the rest of the car all blur blur in the picture!
How do I make it, so that the whole car is clear, just like in Hexy's shot 6 and 5? -
That can be achived easily by adjusting the aperture of the camera lens, also known as f-stop. Ok, turn the dial to 'Av', then turn the control knob fully to the right, and viola, there you go..
Alternatively, you can refer to the user manual, lots of stuff can be found in there.. -

Read up the user manual, maybe the operation of the 40D is different from my 400D.. -

hey, I did turn it to AV and set the aperture to 33(max). How come my photo sill blur blur, not clear one??? And when I take the photo, after I snap, I must wait for about 3-4 sec for the preview to come out.. is this normal?

I got no idea why your pics would turn out blur. Shouldnt be the case..
But after u shoot, the shutter will open longer due to smaller aperture, needs more time for the correct amt of light to pass thru, so that 3-4 second wait is normal. -
Oh i know why your shots blur liao.. Since the shutter open for so long, you need a very stable tripod and best if you use the timer so as to eliminate shake when you press the button.

haha.
set ur dial to aperture mode aka av, then use either f/8.0 or f/11 would be ok.
watch ur iso, dun set too high. try using the range of iso 100 to 400.
because if i'm not wrong.. u would be using table lights also right?
for normal exterior shots, u dun really needa use ur flash.
just adjust ur table lights.
unless u wanna fill flash to fill up the shadows den use ur flash.
rember to use a tripod or place ur camera firmly to cut down any shake to ur camera. stablise it.
u should be able to get some nice shots already.
the bigger the aperture, meaning the smaller the f/ number, the more out of focus background and lesser in focus area in the photo.
if u wanna get a gd clear photo, set to f/8 or f/11.

the normal sweet spot of different lens are f/8 or f/11.
hmmm... waiting for 3-4 secs for preview to come out...
is it after u press the shutter button, u hav to wait for 3-4secs for the shutter to snap? as in a SNAP sound?
or after u press it, already snap and u hav to wait for 3-4secs for the preview?

but my guess is that bcos u set ur aperture to f/33, due to lesser light going into the len, it will need longer exposure, thus cos you hav to wait for 3-4secs for your shutter to snap to take the photos.
due to the long exposure and i guess u shot it hand held, thus with camera shake also, causing your photo to hav the blury and smoky effect. -

after that rotate the roller that is at the top also.
should be able to let u select single shot, multi shot or timer.
i dun own a 40D, but i guess it should be the same as my trust worthy 20D.
