[I am heading for the Demag AC500-2 with luffing fly jib as the next crane[/b]
The jib is called a lattice jib.Originally posted by nicholademus:wow...nice lookin crane
u mean the weights behind the cupola are adjustable?? where do they sell the spare parts for the cranes??
i bought 1 some yrs back...nt quite sure whats the model but its by siku, yellow in colour and has a cross-jointed boom(the non-adjustable kind, like those used by tower cranes). but too bad the weight behind are fixed
The Demag AC500-2 boasts a new SSL system . SSL stands for Sideways Super Lift. If i rmbr correctly , the AC500-1 comes in a Demag label . The Demag AC500-2 however , comes in TerexDemag colours . Also , in the AC500-1 , it has a small hook , having only a pathetic single sheave line hook . The AC500-2 have a chunkier and larger hook .Originally posted by nicholademus:cool....if onli will get to see the real thing...
i've noticed there's a Demag AC500-1 for sale too...wats the diff between 1 and 2?
There are shops selling them at Orchard . One of them is located at Meridian Shopping centre , second level . Another one i cant rmbr , but is located near teh Meridian .Originally posted by wonderamazement:I like em! Anw , even so , be prepared to fork out about $300 - $1500 if you want to buy any of them.
This thing is truly an engineering marvel. Cant wait to see the crane when everything is folded in..Originally posted by TIB1224Y:Oh, the following is the luffing fly jib...

Its very very long... but can only support less than 10 tons at its end, for the real thing. Weight is sacrificed for height (can reach up to 149 metres in real situation).
The 1200 comes with two lattice sections, one lattice adaptor and one lattice/solid jib...
Photos tomorrow, cause haven't take yet...
Thats why I am thinking of going to the photoshoot on the 9th...Originally posted by nicholademus:amazing machines...remember standing next to the window for hours watching it work when i was younger...while there're a number of us here talking abt flat 6s and V10s and 12s, enzos porsches and JDMs, great to know that there're collectors like u who has interest on the tonnage and abilities of these...have lots to learn from u guys
