add on is those polishing cloth or microscoptic clothOriginally posted by HeXy:Sweep off the dust and then wipe the model with a smooth cloth..
i suggest not to temper with anything since its will make the colour flade instead. its not real car 1/1 u knowOriginally posted by gp3:What can I use to make the headlights or rims more shiny?
Tear a piece of your daily newspaper, hold it in ur hands, spit hard on it, then wipe your car! If the end result isn't good enough, then spit directly on car. Care should be taken so that the spit doesn't fall on the beautiful and shiny box/casing that you soo treasure..Originally posted by gp3:What can I use to make the headlights or rims more shiny?

I dont recommend waxing for red cars, as for whatever reason, paint comes off easily for red cars..Originally posted by imprezaWRXSTi22B:can wax. but becareful when the model has decals. or when the model is painted in more than 1 colour.....
Keeping it in a cool room away from direct sunlight is a good idea, as the paint on the models may crack, rubber may melt and decals may peel off if it's subjected to direct sunlight or heat for a long period...Originally posted by hisoka:buy and clean/polish. then put in a box/display box/bag and vaccuum seal. then place in a dark room at 20 degree celcius?
Hmm... great ideas!! Could you share how you make these "jacks"? Will the "jacks" damage the under carriage of the models as its replacing the 4 tyres as supporting for a long time? I think i may need quite a number of them ah! Siao liao!Originally posted by Jasonist:have u guys ever wonder if we display our precious car models on cabinet for a long period, the rubber tyres might get FLAT??? by then the tyres wont look so nice since it got flat izit? and have u ever wonder y the models oways being screwed on a plastic tray which the tyres are never being 'landed' on the surface, instead they will leave a little gap between the tyres and the surface... should be some reason y they wont let the tyres touch the tray rite???
according to wat i got from a car model collector, he wont let his models tyres touch the surface coz he fears the tyres might get flat one day since the display is for long term... which is a serious issue for us die cast collectors... so he recommend me to use sth to jack up the models to prevent the tyres from touching the surface... so wat i got is this - THE FLOATING DISPLAY, i did it on my every 1/18 car model...
material i use to jack up the car models
juz stick somewhere underneath the car
after the model being jack up, no worries for the tyres got flatten (juz in case)
hope to share this idea with u all... it depends on personal choice whether to believe o not lar, coz i cant afford to risk my every model le, especially when talking bout flatten rubber tyres...
