If we got rare models to display, it will benefit nikko too, as it will draw people to see the rare ones, and at the same time they may patronise nikko..Originally posted by LH83:We could help Nikko setup a booth for them and display their models... Maybe only those people interested in selling their models can put theirs up at the booth...
IMHO, Displaying our own models wouldn't do much good for them since they're not gonna profit from it... It would be more advantageous for them to display their own models to draw attention to themselves... Besides advertising in Hot Stuff mag, I rarely see any other media promoting their store...
Concentrate on the photoshoot first ba..Originally posted by mark-x link:overall, i suggest a time and date where we can get together to discuss and get to finalise. how abt this coming sunday?
How will that benefit Nikko since they're not the ones selling those rare models? Imagine you're the buyer... you see a rare model that looks nice... but Nikko doesn't have it in stock... then you'll be kinda disappointed...Originally posted by HeXy:If we got rare models to display, it will benefit nikko too, as it will draw people to see the rare ones, and at the same time they may patronise nikko..
We showcase rare models, collectors specially come and see, and at the same time may buy something at nikko.. So it may benefit nikko..Originally posted by LH83:How will that benefit Nikko since they're not the ones selling those rare models? It could be better that we help to set up and display the models Nikko has... as well as any other models we have for sale ourselves...
Putting just your own rare models for display, and not for sale, might bring about this sense of 'showing off' to others... You know, the 'I got this rare model and you can't get it' kind of thing...
Its best to look for a win-win situation...
There's a lot of 'mays' in that... They 'MAY' buy something... its not something that can certainly happen... I don't think Nikko will be willing to put up the money for this if there's no certainty if they can make a profit from it... Plus, collectors probably already know what models they are looking for and where they can get it.. It would be more feasible to showcase what Nikko is offering...Originally posted by HeXy:We showcase rare models, collectors specially come and see, and at the same time may buy something at nikko.. I doubt we can actually sell anything without a proper license.
Most car shows are all abt 'showing off', dont tell me the lambo's and ferrari's, which are the highlight of the show, are actually affordable to the public at large..
Yup... this might work better if it was a die cast exhibition... or model exhibition...Originally posted by 50338:hi , really a great long time that i didnt involve with the things going on here... busy with school work tho... pai sae anyway ya..
dont really think it would work..
if just for display purposes it may work la , but if want to sell of models hmm i think not many or can say no one will go buy you see....
if you go to car show , which one is your main attraction? the real car rite.... where got ppl go see models and buy lae ? unless it is a exhibition of model cars ma then can work...
nikko or some other company that time i saw before ma got go for the car show thingy in the previous shows but from what i observed there arent any buyers, but quite a number of onlookers only. btw that time is i think also have remote control cars performance also to show "drifting"
Haha, actually i feel we are too ambitious liaoz.. i dont think we have to capacity and ability to actaully propose anything, as we are a small group afterall..Originally posted by 50338:i would rather have a photo shooting organise by the nikko and all diecaster bring down to location (sentosa, sentec, expo ,etc) to display and have products of nikko put at there , like tat at least would attract others to at least come and see , real cars shows cant do any help so cant forget abt that plan le ... yup
maybe can come out with a proposal with what is the initiated plan of coming out a exhibition of our collection , and binging the nikko and as well as other companies product for the exhibition such as burago misto etc....
to come out with this exhibition take up to months to plan because u need answer from companies for their answer is it that they willing to sponsor anot
not easy task lor , unless you are one of the companies that are willing to chip in to have this kind of event started up....
places for the rent , equipments stage up performance etc etc event not easy one ....
In the corporate world, everything is full of 'mays'. No venture is guaranteed to be profitable. Nothing ventured nothing gained.Originally posted by LH83:There's a lot of 'mays' in that... You don't need a license to sell what you own...
The difference about this and car shows is that for car shows, the companies are showcasing their new products for interested buyers... Whereas we are just showing people what we own as individuals... You can say that most car shows are about showing off... so... does that mean that you also want to show off by showcasing your rare models?
You're not venturing anything... You're asking Nikko to put up the money... Why don't you put up the money for them? Then you can venture to gain something... If you're not willing to put in the money, then don't talk about nothing ventured nothing gained...Originally posted by HeXy:In the corporate world, everything is full of 'mays'. Now we are talking about renting a booth in a public event and selling stuff, is there is no corporate license required?
Not that we want to show off, but this would be a good milestone for SGDC.. Anyway, if u are asking me directly, no, my collection wont leave my home nor do i have any rare cars to 'showoff'.
Aiya, our conversation is getting nowhere, i will let u be the Mr. know-it-all, i wont interupt anymore..
Said show off rare models is you. then now not showing off n leave your home also you. you really talk much leh. As well you dun post pics better.Originally posted by HeXy:In the corporate world, everything is full of 'mays'. No venture is guaranteed to be profitable. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
