Moving to OZ/NZ

Hi everyone!
I am still currently in Singapore. I was exploring the options to work out of Singapore and I am really clueless despite all the read ups! :( I do have intentions to remain long in which ever place that I am able to be granted a visa. I am also looking to complete a bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences, which I assumed I may have to start from a diploma again as what I have on hand is just a diploma from PSB Academy in Banking & Finance.
I have gone through many articles and it appear that to shift is not an easy feat at all. I am working as an operations executive in a business centre right and and I believed that I do not fall under the category of "skilled workers".
I am already preparing to get a driver's license so that commuting around would be easier.
Anyone here planning to move over or have just moved over to either of the country?

Well, from what I heard, some OZ dun take kindly to asians who are trying to "steal" their jobs...
But being to start fresh in a place without friends and family is tough. Becoz when the going gets tough, you have no one physical to turn to.
That said, you might want to consider NZ instead. That place is really beautiful...

Hey, thank you for the input. NZ was my 1st choice but there were remarks going around that only Auckland is habitable and other parts are less expensive but the condition is as good as village - liked. When I search online for NZ, it is indeed a beautiful place!

Hmmm, we do have quite a few forumners here that moved over to OZ/NZ... but I dun think they come online that often though...
Is the purpose of this due to accumulating overseas work experience? if yes, there are jobs in singapore that require their staff(s) to frequently fly around... not sure if that's your cup of tea...

land of giant hums n mussels......and $5/pound marlin....but no seafood buffet.

@Acid I have tried exploring the oportunities locally but it was of no luck. For work as well as I am habouring this hope to start living overseas as well:)

in the past ,,,u cant go overseas without getting correct visa from nz ,,,such as a nz work visa ..student visa or work holiday visa.dont try goin there on a 3 mth nz tourist visa because if u want to extend to another visa u will run outa time as all visas take more than 4 mths to process unless its a tourist visa.however in past they had 1 year tourist visa and u could even get a 6 mths work visa without even getting a job in nz or stepping foot on nz even,,,,,u need to check out on nz immigration website.,,which seems to be messy n overloaded nowadays.not to mention they clammed down on immigration back in 2005 or so.harder to get in.but if u do go on a tourist visa......not sure if u could get a job even after u got your spore qualifications converted to their equivalent..their job advertisements on newspaper daily seem to be the same as the internet.actually not much jobs to be frank.....i think everybody n kiwi people struggling there to find a job too....lol
i noticed more asians in auckland and mount roskill....in fact entire of auckland region seem to be like spore but less developed...u wont know the difference n swear u were still in spore even.they have lion dance in the park....somewhere in auckland.they have japanese people who look like they just flew in from Harajuku tokyo transplanted into an old city which surprisingly gets windy cool sea air.the sunlight is great and has not much uv lite.
communities there are mainly the japanese..koreans,,,taiwanese...china chinese,,,malaysian chinese...indian,,bangladesh,,,,more like 50% asians 30 % whites there and 20% maori.tongans.
those gov approved jobs on internet meant for PR or citizens of nz.

First with job getting last - only skill workers are welcome. check with the country embassy for the list.
Next driver license in Oz - usually is best have. As apartment in city is expensive, and train and buses are not good.
Well please consider the tax and interest rate. They may look better off - but are they ? 40percent tax & high loan interest rate for house load - after you take in consideration - damn you are a lot richer staying here, and go there for hoildays. -
I am living in Australia and have been for many years. Transport is not as convenient as Singapore but is still manageable (trains and trams are pretty good). You can also pick up a second hand car very cheaply over here.
There are a number of ways to migrate to Australia for example, as a skilled migrant (i.e. skilled professional or tradesperson), a business migrant (business professionals, investors and owners), employer sponsored migrant, working holiday maker or an international graduate.
