Any helpful tips on getting out of Tokyo into Singapore?
Or point me to the right forums/websites for information.
Bus to airport turned around and returned to the hotel this morning.

i saw from the news that narita airport was closed due to the tsumami. Perhaps u will like to try other airport? I look into the web and see that narita and haneda airport was closed. Unless you have the chance to take train to Nagoya international airport or kansai international airport. Hope other forumers can provide u better answer... Anyway take care! Heard from my friend that its still shaking now.... :(

dude....a natural disaster just hit.....if the trains are down/airports are closed/buses are cancelled...what are you gonna do? i'm not sure how anyone here will be able to offer you any advice.

dude, the MFA is supposed to help their citizens around the world. that's what taxpayers expect.
they have lines into Tokyo and an embassy there.
i suppose you work for the MFA?

not sure if you've experienced natural disasters before apart from this quake....everyone is helpless!!!...including embassies, MFAs, presidents and what not. the first priority is to SAVE LIVES....and getting critical services i.e. public transport, power, water supplies etc back on. what do you think MFA can do for you??? fly in some helicopter or send the army troops on fighter planes to get you back to SG???!! i don't work for MFA or related gahmen agencies....i just know when things are serious enough to put aside my own personal needs & quit complaining till the agencies can figure out how best to move the stranded people at airports, train stations etc. look at it this way....at least you are alive!!!

okay thought about finger pointing.....channelnewsaisa had said singaporean who are stuck can call the Singapore embassy in japan.....
My company pull back all the Singaporean employees from Japan they took the flight out this morning....They charted a night Taxi to the airport and stayed overnight outside Narita in the cold.
U need to call your Singapore contact to book a confirm flight for you from the outside. Singapore airlines does reserve seat for Singaporean wanted to return to SG.
