Me too! When I look at it sitting in my driveway, I wonder, "we bought that?!?" I'm still reeling from the shock.

I hear you. Winters here are starting to do a number on me and I see myself moving someplace warmer after retirement. Problem is, most everyone else is thinking the same thing, and much of the prime, wamer regions of the country have gotten too crowded, expensive, and increasingly populated by people who don't speak English.

I cannot tell you how sick I am of Sears. I have now severed all ties with them and will no longer add to their coffers. I have several applications out there and hope to hear back from one, anyone, soon.

You not sian of the MN weather ah? Year after year, it's more and more of the same. Buay sian meh? Seattle isn't much better either, really. Say, what's your sales tax? My inlaws and outlaws tell me it's almost 10% there. On the plus side, they don't have income tax. Unlike here, we have both. *bleeding*

Winter, ah? I've gotten tired of it a looooong time ago, and am currently merely tolerating the snow, cold weather, and short days. I try convincing myself that enduring winters is the price to pay for the lovely summers we have, but this winter, which has been particularly cold and snowy, is putting that notion to the test.
I think our sales tax is currently 7.125%. It was 6.75% when I first moved up here. Doesn't seem high vis-a-vis other states, but when combined with the fact that MN has one of the highest state personal income tax rates in the US, it becomes almost unbearable.

Aiyoh! I didn't know that! (2nd para). I'd always thought the colder the place, the cheaper the standard of living. I stand corrected. So what's stopping you from relocating? We have two different sales tax rates in our county. In four cities it's 9.75%, the rest of us pay 8.75%. I don't know what the income tax rate here is but I know it's high. I would love to leave CA for cheaper pastures but you know the story. The standard of public education here stinks, our state is broke, just story after story of the lack of funding, increased costs, etc, etc. Speaking of state coffers, our country's broke too.

I like the way the Sportage looks. Which makes me think of the world's ugliest car, the Pontiac Aztek. What were they thinking? Or were they thinking at all? Ugliness personified!
