LS, guess what? After your post on having to buy a replacement van, it happened to me too. I ended up with an 08 Kia Sedona. It drives like a car! Light and not lumbering like the 05 Freestar I traded it in for. How do you like your Terrain so far?
LS and MG....hope the worst is over for you folks!!!
i just got back to the piles of snow too.....couldn't even pull into the driveway 'cos the layers of snow have compacted and turned into ice.....yikes!
i thought i saw young leaves sprouting on the bare trees along the way back home.....hopefully not my eyes playing tricks on me and that spring is really just round the corner!!!
tomorrow is gonna be back-breaking shovelling day.....the whole month of snow awaiting.....wooooohoooooo NOT!!!!
FYI...if anyone has a Borders Books giftcard use it immediately, I heard they'll be filing for bankrupcy this week!

Just read on the news that Borders has indeed filed for Chapter 11 protection.
Guess I shan't be receiving those 33% discount coupons from them anymore.
Isn't it a shame? Don't you just love walking into a bookstore like Borders? The one closest to me closed some time ago. We were shocked when we pulled into the parking lot. Truthfully, when I visit, I merely browse. I usually buy used off the net. Oh well, another one bites the dust.
so sad....i'm a regular customer at borders. there's one very near my place with a nice cafe, comfy sofas.....i had spent many many hours in there. i bought several giftcards the last time they had the buy $50 get $10 free (before xmas 2010).....bought tonnes of stuffs with those cards...and coupled with those 30-50% discount coupons that i always get, i always feel like i'm getting very good deals.

actually, this winter ain't bad. so far i've only worked from home 'cos of weather/road conditions 2 days nia. yah, MG and i can relate the late 80s and the 90s when winters were really really harsh. seems it gotten better in the 2000s. besides, i prefer spring/fall/winter to summer. yikes..... i am allergic to the sun.

thanks lost. yeah...i hope it is over too. go easy on the shovelling. i shovelled my deck on that fateful snow day. i did it twice. the snow was really light tho' but kinda fun and it was an exercise for me.
when i see the shoots of my tulips...i'll be happy.....sign of spring!!!! having a long weekend and thinking of baking. hopefully i won't get too lazy.

alamak....missed this. blur liao. aiyoh....u also ah? kia got good review eh? how do u like it? oh, i didn't drive the terrain. SO's ah. i am still driving my mazda 5. but i like the terrain. very quiet and "heavy". my mazda is so light. last week we had a category 1 hurricane, i drove very slowly when crossing bridges. oh, the other good thing i like about the terrain is the lumber support seat. pretty comfy. and you know? that remote starter cost C$650 a piece!!!!! @#$%^&** LOL
I wasn't even looking for a Kia. After all it's a relatively newer brand and from what I've seen of their line-up, I wasn't impressed. So I was biased going into this. I was reluctant to take it for a test drive but I didn't see anything else in my price range or liking. The salesperson had to call in reinforcements to persuade me to put my preconceived notion aside. During the test drive, I was pleasantly surprised. That thing drives like a car! So light, so zippy and so responsive. Unlike the Freestar I had. That thing was so heavy and slow to respond.
My Freestar was sitting a little over 80K and I had to keep asking for more for my trade and a lower price on the preowned Kia. It took us about 6 hours to strike a deal making us the last ones to leave the dealership. Mr Jetta drives the Kia while I still have my outback. A couple of weeks before we were this close to trading the Freestar for a used Outback. We just couldn't agree on a price with the dealership.
Another root canal. Sian.

I was impressed with the Kia from the tv ads. Mileage on my Outback is in the 50K range and I'm thinking it'll be time to trade that in soon. I want to give the Sportage a test drive to see if it can compete with a Subaru.
For the final time and I'm never going back, I've finally quit my job with the worst retail company ever. Yippee! lol
