Piangz! 10 tins devoured over 6 months? You very eh sai!
I thought I loved butter cookies. I stand corrected, you are Da King! I might just go buy a tin just because of you. Say, just what do you do with all them empties?
The weather hasn't affected us directly, we're lucky to enjoy a good location. It's bad though. Flooding in the city areas, a few sink holes, closed on ramps, broken pipes, etc We're drying out now. Just in time for another round on Wednesday. How's the weather in your neck of the woods?
wow...you folks really love your butter cookies!!!! can't remember the last time i ate them. everytime i buy one tin....i'd regret afterwards 'cos it takes forever for me to finish one tin....especially those yucky flavors!
so our first storm was over. no big damage apart from tonnes of broken branches from nearby trees. the shovelling is gruesome....all the snow is so icy/clumpy. yucks!! and the roads are slipppppppppppery like hell
we are leaving for our long roadtrip soon!! we are driving from MA to key west......so excited. hopefully the weather conditions are flavorable. i'm bringing my thickest warmest jacket as well as my swimsuit.....tee hee
Sounds like you're living a pretty nice life here. Lucky you!
we had a great new year weekend too. i can't believe it is winter and we have plus side single digit. not bad not bad. hope it keeps that way then i will have no problem with winter. ;-)
40F+ for the past few days, been raining and the snow has almost completely melted...it sucks! It's supposed to be winter, dammit!

Currently 9ºF here with blowing snow. The rest of the week is expected to be frigid, with subzero lows expected into the weekend.
Where's global warming when you need it the most???
It got down to -19ºF (-28ºC) this morning. At this temperature, the lining of your nasal passages and nasal hair freeze up with every intake of breath, making it a thoroughly unpleasant experience to walk outside.
Vehicles also tend not to fare too well in such severe cold. I nearly didn't make it to work this morning as, after leaving the relative warmth of my garage, the cold was thickening my car's clutch fluid and causing the clutch pedal to take progressively longer to release, such that by the time I got to the park-and-ride lot, it was taking the clutch a full five seconds to engage.
Oh, the joys of living in Minnesota...
After that recent run of wet weather that brought flooding to many areas, we have been enjoying weather in the 70s. Talk about a U-turn! Everyone is saying this is so unusual and that this summer is sure to be a scorcher.
But with good weather, there is a downside. Weeds have overtaken the back yard. More work for me. Yay.
lucky u jetta. i am in the same cold winter zone as our dear MG. :( freezing rain lah, light snow that made the roads slushy lah....bitterly cold winds lah...... i am glad i have winter tyres ar bo....driving how?
Would you guys move to warmer climes? As you guys know, I cannot tolerate the cold. SD winters are plenty cold enough for me. And on cold winter days, there is nothing I enjoy more than hot soup. Speaking of which, a dear from from Sg gave me a nice surprise - treats from Sg. LS, can you get your hands on Koka brand tom yam noodle soup? Alamak, I love the stuff man! lol.
it's MINUS 20 this morning and to add windchill, it will feels like MINUS 30+
COLD COLD COLD~~~~~

i doubt.....TO is really nice....if i don't have to drive, winter is alright. it's like hopping into a heated car to heated mall or building and the house is nicely set to about 20-22. i can still go around in short-sleeves tees.
wah....so nice ah? koka brand ah? hmm.....not sure leh. i usually buy that "out front one ting" brand. :P
out front one ting. HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
If you can find that Tom Yam flavoured instant noodle, buy! Shiok!
What's your winter heating bill like? My last bill was *gulp* $120. What's your current DIY project? Can't wait to hear about it.
hehehe.....mai cheo ley. kekekeke okay, the next time i am at the chinese grocers, i will check out koka. u lucky lah. u got that simi asiansupermarket. i ordered and paid, sekali they sent email to say they don't deliver to canada. wth.
heating bill ah? pretty consistent leh. about C$150 a month. your water bill is separate right? ours is.
diy project? my dear lady.....now winter leh. no project. just wanna snuggle up in bed to catch my hongkong series. hehehehe
this winter is hitting south of us quite bad. heard there's going to be another storm heading NYC. many flights have been cancelled. we are getting the sun and occasional flurries. but man is it awfully cold!!!!! brrrr.....
You can still have DIY projects in winter what.... sewing, etc. Your heating bill isn't too bad. I was expecting a bigger one. As for water, it's separate yes and they are increasing the cost by 6% next month. We have water police even!
I am working on the yard. Haiz. Sooooo much bamboo! Damn thing is like cancer you know. So hard to remove. After I'm done with that, I have to build a short retaining wall and then replace the fence. All I see is $$$$$$$$$$$$$ flying out of my butt.
Talk about our Asian supermarket. They have stopped stocking Prima anything. I'm so bummed. They don't have the Koka tom yam noodles I mentioned. I have to wait for another kind friend in Sg to mail me more.
Weather wise, can't complain. Saw the pictures on TV of that huge dumping of snow on the East Coast. omg!
sewing? no lah. wah, u very hardworking leh. anyways, take it easy yah.
the 11 year old caravan decided to call it a day. this went, that went. time to get a new ride. so picked this up late last week.
on the weather front, we are expecting a heavy snow storm starting late tmr or wednesday. expecting between 30 to 50 cm of snow. yikes. lucky i am on vacation this week. but on vacation can give me good weather or not ar bo how i go gai gai? crap.
Like your new ride leh. Simi brand lai eh? Can't tell from the pic. Congrats! Hope you struck a good deal.
Too bad you live so far away. I'm on 30 days medical leave. Trying to relax, destress, etc.
So what am I doing? Trying to get my figures squared away for my annual tax appointment. I'm sooo buried under sooo many pieces of paper, grrr! So tempted to buy that thing you see on tv to scan and organise all receipts, recipes, etc. Also trying to get things done in the house. Like get both cars parked in the garage and not on the street. There was another spate of vehicle break ins last month just two blocks away.
it's a gmc terrain. yeah, i tink it's a good deal. the basic has all sorts of features. thanks. ;-)
oh no....30 days medical leave???? what happened? take care my dear lady!!! *hugz*
r u sure u r bz working away at your taxes??? hehehe i tot u bz cafeworlding or simi simi. hehehehe
anyways, take care, rest well and get well soon. here's wishing one and all a smooth ride in the year of the rabbit.
What's the mpgs like on your new ride? I love wheeling and dealing. :P
Re: leave. Aches and pains, haiz.
Yes busy working at getting my tax figures ready for my appointment next week. Sian you know. Soooo many receipts, etc, etc to consolidate and compile. As for CW, I'm not so enamoured with the game like I used to be because... I am now enamoured with Cityville. hahaha!
Today, with the help of my handyman, I finally got the shed done. Tomorrow will be spent moving the overflow from the garage into the shed. I am hoping to get it all done so that I can finally park both cars in the garage tomorrow night. After that, I am ready to sit my butt down and complete the damn tax exercise.
MG, I hope you're doing okay with that Mother of all winter storms in your neck of the woods.
* drives past..
hey folks...happy lunar new year! may the new year take all the aches and pains and cold away :P and replace them with much good health, happiness and warmth! :)
heard about the lousy weather...you folks drive/walk safe and stay warm.
am in the sunshine state right now...temperature is in the 80s. hot!hot!hot! i realised i no longer like "hot". can't wait to return to the new england cold.....but hopefully the sleet/ice would be gone by then.
talking about instant noodles and asian spices....i buy them online from efooddepot and asiansupermarket365. the former offers a great variety and the prices slightly cheaper (soooooo many different variety of instant noodles - i buy the thai brand of tomyum noodles). but asiansupermarket365 sells some unique malaysian foodstuffs like the ipoh tau sar piah and ma ti soo that i love.
sighhh.........don't remind me about tax filing time :( bleahhhhhhh
all your heating bills are VERY REASONABLE!!!! i'm surprised that littlestream's heating bills are also so low. mine could be closer to $200 during this time i think.......but not complaining 'cos still much lower than my bills last year.
haven't got time to sew anything since before xmas.....can't wait to get back to my sewing machine and that big stack of fabrics.
are you folks cooking anything special for CNY eve reunion dinner??
Usual steamboat dinner. Very quiet celebration as always.
It's friggin' -4°F (-20°C) this morning, with a wind chill of -18°F (-28°C). I lost all feeling in the toes of my right foot on the walk in from the bus stop.
Hopefully, this is the last cold snap of the winter; temps this weekend are expected to climb into to mid-30s.
cold cold cold.....freaking cold. and 2 days of snow, i get this in my backyard. i put my foot in to show u the depth.
Yikes! Poor MG and LS. I always think of you both when I hear of weather storms up north. Makes me feel guilty for living in SD and enjoying the warmth and sunshine.
