At Namba Parks, after watching the 10 a.m. showing of the highly acclaimed movie, The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi.
Making my way from Namba Parks to Nipponbashi, I came across this takoyaki stall that was extremely popular, judging from the length of the line. Mmm.... takoyaki!
The geodesic dome of the Osaka Maritime Museum, seen from the Cosmosquare station of the Nanko Port Town Line.
The entrance to one of the ubiquitous covered malls in the Umeda district.
Inside the covered mall. No shortage of entertainment venues and food establishments here!
i wish i am there now....

i'm going in September!!!
The night view from my hotel room. The hotel's right next to a major freeway and under the approach/departure path of Itami Airport, but I've gotten used to the constant roar.
At the Shinosaka station platform to catch the 6:08 a.m. Hikari Shinkansen to Tokyo (on the right).
On the way to Odaiba on the New Transit Yurikamome train, which was crowded with people on the way to the Tokyo Anime Fair 2010 which was held at...
... the Tokyo Big Sight convention center!

hopefully and70% (as at forecast), ME TOO...
The Tokyo Tower, seen from outside my hotel. I didn't go up the tower this time as I had been there on my previous visit. And when you've seen one tower, you've seen them all.
Visiting Tokyo without dropping by Akihabara is like... like... not going to Akihabara when you're in Tokyo!
Is this heaven? No, it's Akihabara...
More of the same...
The official poster and character scrolls of the recently released anime movie, Suzumiya Haruhi no Shshitsu ("The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi"), which I saw in Osaka last Friday.
The Kitchenjiro restaurant in one of the back alleys of Akihabara. I ate here on my last visit, and really liked the way they prepared their tonkatsu, so I went back there again this time...
... and had their tonkatsu again! Fabulous!

The heat and humidity then might put a damper on your enjoyment of the vacation.

Some images taken during my day trip to Onomichi:
At the Shinosaka station bright and early to catch the Shinkansen to Fukuyama, where I'll hop onto a local train to Onomichi. My train's the Hikari 491, which arrives/leaves at 7:35 a.m. (indicated at the top-right of the board)
Outside the JR station at Onomichi
.
The waterfront at Onomichi.
One of Onomichi's specialties is ramen that uses soup made from fish stock. That's what I had for lunch.
More pictures of Onomichi to come...
Some pictures taken in and around Senkoji Park, atop Mt. Senkoji:
Nice pics!
Btw I am in Vienna now... Going to Bratislava in a few moments time hahah

A few more shots taken at Onomichi:
One of the many alleyways leading up/down the hillsides of Onomichi.
Onomichi is literally dotted with shrines and temples on its hillsides.
And graves. Lots of them.
Yet another alleyway.
ahhhh...so happy..go japan..
ill only be there in another 4 years time.
I took a long but very scenic train ride to the town of Kanazawa yesterday. The following images were taken at Kenroku-en Garden in Kanazawa:
The Ishikawamon Gate of Kanazawa Castle Park, just across from Kenroku-en Garden. I elected not to visit the castle, as I've had my share of castles from my last trip to Japan.
I never really could figure out this exhibit. Perhaps there's a moral to the story here: don't build an icehouse and expect it to last into summer.
Downtown Kanazawa.
The next three images were taken in the Naga-machi Buke Yashiki District.
Argh! Was supposed to head to Takayama today according to my itinerary, but I'm not really looking forward to a 3.5 hour train ride each way. I've been riding trains everyday since I got here, so I'm shuffling my schedule around and making today a "local" day, with just a visit to neighbouring Kobe.
nice... zora and i will be going in May.. a much shorter trip..
we'll post pics in Club30 once we're home

Which parts of Japan, and for how long?
I was in Hiroshima yesterday for a scheduled tour of the Mazda factory and museum.
That's the train I'll be taking at the top of the board, which will be arriving next: the Hikari 491 Shinkansen, leaving Shin-Osaka at 7:35 a.m. with stops at Shin-Kobe, Himeji, Okayama and Fukuyama, before arriving at Hiroshima.
Arriving at the Hiroshima Shinkansen station, and then...
... switching to a local JR train for the ride to the Mukainada station, where the Mazda headquarters were located.
Photography was not allowed on the factory floor (which was truly a shame as that was certainly the most awe-inspiring aspect of the entire visit) but I did manage to snap these images in the lobby of their headquarters while waiting for the tour to begin:
Woohoo! There's my baby right there! It's marketed as the Axela in Japan, but sold as the Mazda3 in the US. Except for the colour and driver's position, it's identical to what I have.
The Atenza is one sharp looking vehicle...
... and that includes the view from the rear!
But wait! Here's proof that even Mazda isn't immune from putting out the occasional butt-ugly vehicle.
And on to the museum:
This car's going to be my next winter beater.
kanazawa?? wah... missed that place..... was there like 12 or 13yrs ago....havent got chance or time to visit that place again....sad sad sad
