I like the scenery there especially in autumn. I've been there once during autumn, the standard of living is very high. Have you thought of that ? I remembered I bought a big chinese "pao" (包å)at Japan's China Town, it cost me S$ 8 . I got a shock of my life.
I have friends who work there, it seems that they pick up the language quite fast. So language is not a major problem but the standard of living is.

dey... If the cost of living in singapore is already unbearable, japan is even far worse -___-
But yeah, Japanese do speak english but in a rather broken manner...
if u cannot speak japanese.. u can only be a tourist...... mi in japan now.. for this week lah haahah... stay here b4... and always come over ..... ya it's a beautiful place....if u like it.. then move over lah shiok shiok one.. see short skirt jap mei mei till eyes pain...
I had been to Lijiang in China. It is a place where most of the minorities stay. The place is very beautiful and slow pace. Very suitable for retirement. The minorities are able to speak mandarin, thus no problems in communications.
Lijiang is near Shangri-La. Shangri-La is so beautiful that many westeners settled down there by marrying the locals. I also visited the town where the westeners stay. I am still too young to retire but hope to retire in places like Shangri-La when the times come.
Japan is good to visit but not for staying. My personal view.

The serene environment which I think is what you're portraying this Lijiang place is .... would be good when I'm older and shrivelled.

Yeah, I remembered when I was in Tokyo, I saw the girls there, they were really pretty and very well dressed. I am a lady who can't even get my eyes off them, talk less about guys.
They were so well dressed that my friends and I felt as if we were from the mountains. Next time when I go there again, I will be more mindful of my dressing.
I don't know but I heard japan dun like foreigners who reside there especially chinese and koreans...
BTW for those who seriously thought of getting a PR there, get at least a JLPT 2 to able to communicate, read and write japanese to make your life more pleasant
Going there for a holiday as a tourist is good, but being a PR there is hard.
Japan is a homogeneous society and they do not feel comfortable having non-Japanese working alongside with them.
Its quite hard to get PR there I suppose. They are least welcoming towards foreigners staying and working there.
Standard of living is high in Japan too.
Frankly speaking, I feel that the Japanese even more chinese than we are , look at their traditional culture. The only reason I considered moving there is being closer to my ancient roots..alas Japanese do not think much of chinese and koreans:(
The hanfu movement will be not be a success compared to Japan kimono culture>sad to say unless china go thru a renaissance
if you are a chinese...once you learn the language..it'd be easy to blend in. my bro and several friends have lived/worked/studied (some still are) in japan for years...and they all turned out looking/sounding exactly like the japanese...even the japanese can't tell that they are foreigners.
Browse debito.org and see the problems gaijins face and the man happens to be a white professor who become a japanese citizen!
that time aim russian girls fail
now want aim japanese girls
i wonder whats next?
mouth talk lampa song
i heard of foreigners who do not know a single word of japanese though

u lucky leh.....
Japan, yes! Beautiful scenery and rich in culture :)
I am living in Japan. If you are one of those who get a hard on from watching japanese porn or spent a few days in Tokyo and are amazed of how well-dressed the jap gals are, you're in for a rude shock.
First off, Japanese hate Chinese. They like Koreans more but still a large portion dislike Koreans. This is because of the korean dramas shown on japanese TVs have won some japs over. But if you're Chinese, forget about it. There are many mainland chinese, thai and phillipinos working in the sleazy side of japan. They earn a living from massaging and milking japanese cocks. That's daily life for them.
Japan's winter can be brutal especially in February. But at least, japanese girls are much nicer and definitely better looking than our local girls. Our local girls are too defensive and caustic. Jap gals are the opposite. They always try to please their men. LOL!
Porn is everywhere in Japan. You can go into any kombini and grab one of dozens of porn mags. Japan is good if you don't like the racial and religious bullshit that goes on in Singapore. Japanese minds are not sexually nor religiously repressed. You should come over.
Cost of living is high and many japs are struggling but they don't show it. Japs are also rough people. If you think they are polite, again, you're the typical idiot that I know. They are polite in work but they are not nice people. Also, most KOreans are racists. I like living in japan because it is a good place for single men who dont like to get married and it is also very clean but very expensive. I also like japan as it is not a religious society like singapore.
hmmm....japanese girls.....milking ...me???wants to see k revenge fer what happened back in nanjing!!!!:)
