Hi,
My wife and I will be moving to Perth, Australia for good in June. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable shipment/forwarder company to ship our stuff over? For those of you who have migrated to Australia, can share which company you engaged for the shipment and the cost?
Thanks.
Hi Wind Chaser,
Congrazs on your relocating to Perth. I am sure it will be hell of an adventure :)
Anyway, I just moved to Sydney myself 6 months ago and probably would be able to share some of my experiences with you regarding shipment / forwarder.
List down what questions you have and I'd try my best to answer them
Cheers!
i had only several boxes of stuffs so i used FedDex. it was fast and on time...no fuss at all.
all the stuffs/boxes were in tact...only one of my plastic cookware had a small crack but they did warn me not to put any breakables in there.
i also had eye glasses in one of the boxes but they survived the trip from singapore to US.
i had a special rate...so it's quite inexpensive. i'd definitely use them again if i need to ship more of my stuffs over. but i would never ship big bulky items like furniture....so i've no need for international movers.
Hi Mid9Sun,
Thanks. Yup, feeling excited coupled with some worries for now. May I know which mover company you engaged in Singapore. How much stuff/boxes did you shipped over to Sydney and how is the charges like?
Thanks.
Sighs....Singapore has lost lots of good sons and daughters, all to be replaced by cheap PRCs, Indians, Indonesian and Filippinos.
Sad to hear you guys are moving overseas, wish you guys the best in your endeavours.

I shipped about 40+ boxes in various sizes for about 2k+ and I used Panther International Moving Pte Ltd. I am very happy with their service.
Also, I pmed you my contacts, feel free to drop me a note anytime I can be of assistance....
i was in perth over 2 days this week for work.
at 3pm in the cbd, i swear i can put on a blindfold and cross the road (adelaide terrace) without getting hit by a car. it's all so quiet there!
that said, there is a great inexpensive japanese restaurant @ adelaide terrace called nagoya that serves good japanese food at a very reasonable price.
all the best, wind chaser!
