I wasn't optimistic because there are simply too many applicants, and the gov is trying to limit the number of foreigners in the country. Without PR, it is quite impossible to find a full time job. Within a few days, I have got a job offer based in south australia and I am happy that 2010 has brought me a turn of good fortune.
Special thanks to simonmj for your guidance.
Congratulations on acquiring your Australian PR status!
Do you plan on going all the way and getting naturalized?

Most of the regulars in this forum are residing outside of Singapore.
Wow, that is good.

hmmmm.....me now thinkin of taking degree course...did u apply thru newspapers or thru company direct?
If you mean finding jobs, I did it through australia online job search, and graduate programs offered by major engineering companies. I have also visited career fairs (usually held in universities) which companies from all areas gather and recruit students for graduate/vacation programs.

Offshore visa is a good idea, but after you have settled down well in Singapore, would you still consider going back?

Thank you! I am planning to kick start my career in AU, but no plans of acquiring citizenship atm. Singapore is still my home and I proud to be a citizen. Who knows in future, it is legal to possess dual citizenship!

To migrate, firstly you will need to pursue a 2 year tertiary program in an australian university (not masters program). After which you have successfully completed the program, you are eligible to apply for PR which then allow you to stay and work without restrictions.
Another way will be getting the necessary work experience, but you will need an employer sponsor to help you apply for a work visa.

I got no money to go australia to study
Are there any company willing to sned candiates overseas to work?
keeptouch,
there are few jobs that allow people from overseas in.however in last company i was in which was notorious for being unfair ,there were like 20 guys from spore industries. All were from india and had worked in spore for many years with spore Permanent resident status. they got their jobs thru agencies in spore.
so after spending years in oz...they are about to retire back in india.
