After 3 months of applying permanent residency, I finally got it! Initially, I was shocked because I thought it will take until 2011 or 2012 to be processed due to the new regulations.
I wasn't optimistic because there are simply too many applicants, and the gov is trying to limit the number of foreigners in the country. Without PR, it is quite impossible to find a full time job. Within a few days, I have got a job offer based in south australia and I am happy that 2010 has brought me a turn of good fortune.
Special thanks to simonmj for your guidance.
Good luck to you and your family in aust.
Enjoy your stay in SA.
congrats and all the best.
do keep us posted on your developments....
to coolcircle,
thats incredible.....from immigration website it said wait till 2012 or return home b4 visa expires kinda pessimistic story.maybe they have changed policy?
hmmmm.....me now thinkin of taking degree course...did u apply thru newspapers or thru company direct?
dun have job fer me in oz outskirts area......all too dangerous and me saving money.
oh you're lucky....did you go through agent?
think coolcircle is in civil engineering..come to think of it the whole of oz is just unbuilt deserts...........or jungle.....or places with no roads and no people..maybe i should go study civil engineering degree too.
Not necessarily...it depends on the points that your degree/tertiary education have. If its higher in demand, the points for it will be higher, so its easier to get in. But now there's a new regulation whereby they will not give you a bridging visa anymore, so looking for jobs will be even harder, especially if you're a foreigner.
not a foreigner..me pr here long b4 cool circle.:)
point system??i applied under old john howard leadership.
ah nice...so hows life? its so friggin hot here now -.-"

yes the point system. I see...i think it'll be more difficult now
job advertised today seems ok.......thinkin bout applying jobs but no transport...think i go holiday in souytheast asia next month and take driving license then find job.most people dun werk mid month and need to do a task in south east asia first
hmmm i think the thing about jobs is that you need to have driving license...its much more convenient and also safer to travel. It depends on what jobs are available but anyway usually people at this time are still overseas.
Not all is lost in spore if you are living in spore.
There are pple coming here to live and be a new citizen.
had no driving license in past n still found it convenient in past but me luck is runnin out and im too stingy to pay for driving classes.............maybe its just time i go splurge on driving school.......

You mean in spore?
in the united arab emirates:)
point system difficult???think i still would make it with that in place from what i read...
it depends....and you should have at least 2 years of stay or education in Aus...anyway if you wanna get license in Aus you need someone with a license to teach you...not like you need to go to the driving sch or something
tries to remember.......dun think they had bridging visa in the past....the "special" visa appears from time to time...fate?providence??think they have briding visa now but u must take points test along with visa.if ya have direction in life from day 1.......then its no problem.
Nice ~
yellow pages said its a driving school.call 45998655:)
I'll most probably be getting it since i have 2 years here....but i might apply it offshore so that i can work in Sg for a while rather than working in Coles in Aus lol
