Do you guys have an Albertson's where you're at? They whip up a pretty good fried chicken. Their mojo's aren't bad either.
Any recommendations from any of the national chains near you?
WaWa is more of a convenience store (like 7-11), but the hoagies are good.
You know, I have yet to step into a 7/11 here and I've been here four years now. Hahaha! Amazing. Speaking of 7/11, what I really miss are the ones in Japan. Especially during lunchtime when they have hot bentos. OMG, love their hot bentos. There were many times when I didn't even know what I was eating but hey, those Mystery Meals were one of the best. Hahahah!
ralphs' cold cut section does pretty good sammies

What specifically? To be honest, I find their prices a little steep.

From their extensive hot food section ? They change their menu quite often.
But I used to love their crab cakes.
Prices are a little more than usual take out.. but the quality is good lor.

Pavilon or Vons are pretty good at their pies, sushi...They too have fried chicken...
On a typical grocery day we go to 3 places....
1) 99cents stores as they have decent vegetable
2) Trader Joes
3) stater brothers or Albertson depend on what i need...
Stater Brothers has better Beef Cut.
4) Asian stored if i have craving.

Big Bird --- Turkey Stories
I saw on Television news that there was a Wild Turkey wondering on New Jersey Turnpike. Toll Booth the other day...not sure if it was a set up but i figure you can't really Tame a Wild Turkey....
For City folks like us (singaporean) "Wild" is really over stated...Wild salmon looks great but it is certainly not Sashimi grade. Rather the Color added Salmon are better for Sushi.
Wild Turkey are Tough might be better off using it as stew...
As for my Turkey Hunt....I managed to get it on Wilshire Blvd....yeah in the mids of Downtown L.A.....Strange..
I saw today from Ralphs offering Turkey for $0.57/lbs for "Private Selection label" with no minimum purchase with Ralph Club card...
So i when to the store and managed to get the Private Selection Turkey for $7.49 cent. 13 lbs bird. Plus a $2.00 customer discount reward....Yippy....my 13lbs Turkey cost be $5.50 I have no complaint...lah....
Fresh Cranberry not from the CAN for $2 buck....
