lostintransition: The best deals have yet to come so hold back until the week before Christmas. It's true that malls aren't as packed as in years past, so you're lucky.
MG: I was headed to Kohl's too but I just didn't want to do battle with the lines. The Best Buy here was rocking! OMG, I so wanted to jump in but told myself, the best is yet to come, so I headed to Costco. What movies didja get?
I scored at Lowe's. There is a $3 rebate programme on holiday lights. Bring your old ones and get $3 off your purchase of new ones. I got that and there was a $10 coupon off a furture $50 purchase in each of the five boxes I got. Like that! Hey MG, they have 12x12 ceramic tiles for 58 cents a piece!!!!! In tasteful colours too!
Went to Costco to get the cookbook they give out free every year and while there, I got my fave Kjeldsen's (yoohoo! MG! ) butter cookies and used my coupons towards some basics.
Hit the Hallmark store armed with coupons and got last year's Barry Manilow holiday CD for $1. MG, shall I gift this to you?
And now, get ready for Cyber Monday.
It was brutal clothing all over the floor...freeway was empty but Jam at parking lot...
Dig the Heel to get the Sales. Everything is 50% discount positively Great....
I got to know someone who used to work at Kohl's. She tells me that they pull stuff out that's been languishing in their warehouses for the holidays. lol.
Oh and guess what? We woke up this morning to the rare and wonderful sound of rain beating against our windows. So Cal is soooo dry, what a welcome sound and sight. This does put a damper on the holiday shopping momentum though.

I picked up the BDs of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home for $7.99 apiece from Best Buy. I was there late morning on Black Friday and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of lines at the cash registers. Unlike Kohl's, BB actually puts more cashiers on duty during the holiday shopping season.
Did you end up getting the tiles at Lowe's?
As with previous years, I'll hold back on getting the Kjeldsen's butter cookies until the day after Christmas, when they go on sale for half price at Wally World, at which time I usually pick up about 20 tins of the stuff.
Any plans for Cyber Monday?

the bigger mall have okay sales like jetta mention most of the 75% + 40% are older styles which i can understand. But the boutique stores are more aggressive at 50% for all.
I was eyeing on an Eddie Bauer Sun Block shirt for 1 years.....and finally the price came down by 50%.....That price stayed for 1 years its not going down till this friday I got the last pcs of my size.

Was I complaining? I was a snug bug. Hibernated the entire day. Bliss! We need more rain though. Everything unlandscaped is so bone dry. Any plans to for a Christmas getaway? We're still thinking about going inner tubing at Big Bear. Looked fun as we drove by the park last year. After our dismal and aborted attempt at snowboarding and skiing.
Hit the base yesterday. They mail out a scratcher card six times a year. Depending on your luck and which covered spot you scratch, you can get anywhere from 5% to 50% off your purchases for the day. They've refined their mechanics. Before, you just scratched the one circle and enjoyed the discount for the rest of the day. Those who hit the lucky 50% savings would buy computers, furniture, appliances. I guess the exchange was losing money that way. Which explains why the scratcher card now has three covered circles. Each time you shop you scratch one circle. How unlucky we were - three 5% circles. Haiz!
