It simply reflect the energy of college students. Whats the big deal?
"Missing alot" is a general statement but more importantly Perharps your pick a fight atitude is simply a mere reflection of your repressed ego.
Yeah, I figured as much.
Do you honestly think that kids who party till 5 in the morning are capable of doing what they're supposed to be doing in class at 7.30? Do you really, because that just flies in the face of decades of medical research into sleep deprivation. Or are you telling me that your Mickey Mouse certificate makes you such an expert on human physiology that you can conclude that a whole bunch of MDs and PhDs simply have not accounted for - what was it - "the energy of college students"?! What kind of Cosmopolitan-rubbish-article thinking is that?
It's not a case of my idea of overseas education being only in books - it's a case of your idea of overseas education being a case of partying until five and then rocking up to class haggard and hung over. YOU may as well have stayed in Singapore and just hung out at Orchard Road clubs all night - hell, you wouldn't even have needed to bother about the going to school part because it's all a half-arsed effort from you anyway. As they say in the old country, JIAK LIAO BEE.
Given that you're obviously a mediocre student, don't try playing amateur Freud with me - you simply don't know your place. And by the way, Honours is nothing in this day and age, so go figure out where you really stand.

I bet you haven't met any Penn students yet.. stumble to class after a night of hard partying and still manage to get almost a 4.0GPA. Especially the ones from Wharton.

Really? Any specific cases you care to name? It may be Wharton, but in postgrad we had quite a few students come over from American universities who washed out, and besides, business schools these days seem to be untelevised versions of The Apprentice, with a marking system that can be described as subjective at best.
Now sure, I've seen rare instances of students from med school or other disciplines where marks aren't awarded on a "depending on your perspective" basis, who do party and still get the marks, but they're very few and very far between. All things being equal, the party animals scrape by with the bare minimum.

Well, UPenn has always been known as the ivy that does a lot of partying. However, I must say there are 2 kinds of party animals. One will be those who came into the school as a legacy. These kind usually barely pass, daddy and mummy will then send a lawyer to school. The second type are just damn bloody smart people who pick things up easily, but they mug like crazy too.

Don't you just hate it when they mug in secret and scam poor suckers into thinking that it's easy?

....So what does a mediocre student mean vs a Honour's "roll" student? It does not dictate earning power unless you are SG govt employee whose career are structured...but that is a path u choose to believe in. -- Structured
Jiak Liao Bee is what the individual does after he attained his degree.....Kangeroo or Mickey mouse degree can only bring an individual so far to open door......So while partying until 5 is not your foretaste in education but certainly how an individual managed their time depend on his/her own abilities. Why even try to jump on that....

My God, what kind of delusion are you living in?! Do you honestly believe that when you apply for a job in an y country, someone with a 4.0 GPA would not have an edge over someone with a 2.0 GPA? What are you, stupid?
It's not just the marks - employers take this kind of thing as a reflection of whether or not you're going to take the job seriously, or if you're going to screw around like you did at uni. If you don't understand something as simple as that, what are you, stupid?

What are you, an idiot? The "liao" part of "jiak liao bee" is in the past tense, you fool! Your choosing to use it in a prospective rather than its intended retrospective sense is undiluted, unadulterated, unmitigated stupidity.

Really? OK, what do you understand of American culture? Given your trembling grasp of things so far, your view of America promises to be a hoot.
If you ventured out of SoCal and went around the states, how many states would you be able to find friends with whom you could stay? Without thinking too hard about it, I've got Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia and DC. Do you think this would have been possible if I had pissed off my contacts in these states?
The fact that you're perceiving this as my "thrashing people" shows in itself that despite all of your *ahem* "social networking", you have no clue and you don't understand how Americans can deal with, if not appreciate, cutting the bullshit and geeting to the bottom line. Or have you just been doing the typical Asian student bullshit thing and hanging around with other students from your home town?

Looks like you got to re-adjust your tuition budget.....by 32%?
This week is surprisingly warm for the end of fall, especially since it dipped down to 30s early in October. Haven't gone below 50, no need to take out the coats yet... I hope it stays this way till after Thanksgiving!

Eh, don't you find it troublesome wearing a coat? I don't like wearing coats, especially when you walk into the store, it gets so warm.
