I actually meant the weather in your neck of the woods is frightful. Watching the news, seeing pictures of the white out conditions in MN, etc. Yikes!
We on the other hand, only had that one winter storm, several days ago. The rain was much welcomed and there was some frost on the windshield of the car, something which I have never experienced in my 4 years here. It's nothing compared to what you guys have to endure. Snow, while nice to look at, brings all kinds of problems. Can you tell I don't like snow?
We were told to expect a wet weekend but so far, it's overcast. I pity the tourists who are here to enjoy the nice weather. Since it looks okay, we're thinking of heading to Universal Studios in LA.....
Since we are on a topics of weather....
I usually goes to weatherchannel.com to check on weather and radar cloud formation my city

ahh...so nice you folks can still enjoy the outdoors - universal studio....go! go! it's fun esp for kids.
i mean...we do still go out...but it's damn cold! so after awhile outside..we'll have to run indoor. main activity for us is shopping...at least it's warm in the malls.
finally took out our electric blankets last night....happy that they are working great. we don't even need to turn up the heat with the blankets on.

Hear, hear, God bless Electric Blankets. We love ours very much.
When we lived in Japan, we had to fiddle with smelly kerosene heaters. Those things, while great, smelled to high heaven.
We didn't visit Universal Studios after all. Got up late, ran some errands and then we finally put up the tree. Yippee! I procrastinated this year because of the lack of space. We had to go rent a 5x5 space to store a couple of pieces of furniture to make way for the tree.
cold snow sleet ice pellets icy sidewalks -30 wind chills wearing multiple layers
OH HOW I MISS YOU!!!!!

What kind of gloves? Gardening? Vinyl? How about going to www.joann.com? I always hit the keyboard before the pavement.
Trees are cheaper here because you're not in Kansas anymore. Wait till a couple of days before Christmas, they'll be begging you to take them. But you should know about your town's tree disposal rules and regs before you buy.

i dunno how to describe the gloves (kinda like the gardening type i guess)...i wanna use them to make those cutsey glove softtoys. will check out the website that you've given me first....
disposal is no prob....we'd just bring all these organic matter to the far back of the yard and dump them there till they turn to mulch...and then use the mulch for the garden/veg plot.
i just dun really fancy the idea of chopping off the trees just for a brief period of x'mas display....but well, it's the tradition....so...
No Christmas tree for me as I do not celebrate the occasion.
However, I have no objections to receiving Christmas presents.

Good Gawd!! How does one live in such conditions??? I'm glad you don't live in Edmonton. +4 is plenty cold enough for me. Stay warm!

Good to ask 'cause those trees grow super tall. Just remember that the smell will permeate through the house. I'm one of the unlucky few who will get a headache from heavy scents for a prolonged period.
Re: knit gloves. You'll also find some at the Dollar Tree and various other dollar stores. Have fun!

Snow flurries today at 3pm, so excited, first time see real snow
After the previous week of bitterly cold weather, we got up about 24ºF today. It felt positively balmy in comparison, and I was outside the house shovelling snow in just a pair of jeans and a sweater.

I demand proof.

You want proof that I was shovelling snow? Oh, alright--I'll mail you some of the snow I shoveled in a plastic bag. Don't be surprised if the package arrives in a very wet envelope.
