It's been so quiet here. Looks like you guys are busy battling Mother nature?
haha...we had some snow over the last weekend...not a whole lot but still the snowplough guy had to come once to plough the driveway & walkways before we could get out. i tried driving in the snow and it was quite ok. also kinda gotten used to the cold now...maybe 'cos i've added on too many layers of fats...hahaha. hate the slushy icy snow...am walking around with a ski pole most of the time for support....my hub says i look like a disabled person with walking stick so maybe we can park at the wheelchair lot.
The snow here always isn't enough to start a snowball fight, the last one I had was at the top of some mountain.

Strangely, it was a beautiful day today. No need for coats. Rare for me to be outdoors in winter without a coat. Amazing!

Neice and Nephew was doing snow angels.....
wahh...vito...so proud of you. i mean...you have fun, you date...and still you are on dean's list. good job.
I got As and one B.
DAMN THAT B. Just because I dont talk rubbish in class means I get marked down? Seriously, I dont understand americans. All they do is talk about irrelevant things like where is the best drinking spot, yoga class, and that is considered class participation. WTF.

good job lovegoddes!!!
hey...we've got all the smart kiddos here in SG overseas.
vito_corleone and lovegoddes, congratulations on your academic achievements here. You have both done sgForums proud.
In other news. the entire upper midwest is still firmly in the grips of a deep freeze with daytime temps in the single digits and nighttime lows plunging into the teens below zero. In other words, it is stupidly cold. Cold enough that the transmission fluid in my car gets so thick in the morning that the clutch pedal stays down when I depress it.

thats why they are freezing in mid west cause of the melting temperature moving southward.

And it can't come soon enough. Woke up this morning and glanced at the outside thermometer: -14ºF (-25ºC).
I wonder if my car will start...

better than we expected...haha!
as we are on the coast...the snow doesn't stay for long (at least so far). so it'd come today....and melt over the next couple of days.
we get nice sunshine....so i like that....i hate the dark gloomy winters.
the town is very diligent in getting the roads plough....so not much issues driving around so far.
enjoy sunny singapore!!!
let me know when you are ready to make some bah-kwa on your own when you are back
I guess the best place is here in SoCal...haha. it's never gonna snow :P

It does snow here. While you're here, head for Big Bear or Mountain High for a day of tubing, skiing, snowboarding or sledding. You can drive to these two resorts. Go early though, it gets packed really quickly.

Hmm for Big Bear, do you require 4WD to drive up? (Higher elevation with better snow, apparently).
I'm looking at Mt High for quick fix to my snowboarding dreams. haha. Might try going with colleagues. How early should I go, any idea?

Fortunately, here in the midwest, one does not have to drive far to partake of the winter sports. I need only walk as far as my driveway, where a slight misstep will usually result in my sliding down the driveway on my ass without the need for expensive ski equipment.

Mountain High opens at 10am and closes at 5. We got there at 9 and the parking lot was already filling up. When we left at 2pm, the lots were beyond full and the road up was a parking lot.
For Big Bear, it's a longer ride up the mountain and you'll need tire chains. You don't need a 4WD.
