And so it begins!
We had a couple of inches of snow accumulation overnight here in the Twin Cities, and it's still coming down outside. All of the white crap is expected to melt as the ground temperatures are still above freezing, but it's only a matter of time before the hard freeze arrives.
Winter sucks. Truly.
its only october

Yah. October. Tell me about it. The normal highs here for this time of the year should be in the mid-50s (°F), so last night's snowstorm was somewhat unexpected. Global warming, my arse.
Your godma should be all set with winter clothes--after all, how many years has she lived up there oredi?
she may want new winter clothes mah
Um, I hate to break this to you--those clothes might be able to keep a person warm at the summit of Genting Highlands, but they'll be next to useless in a Canadian winter.
oh pls, my friends/bosses even see girls wearing miniskirts in cold cold London
shld be ok lar
show some flesh
woo

hur...usually i don't post California weather might trigger discontent remarks from our Northern neighbor and others who are not so "forunate"..... : )
One of the sure sign of changing weather is that i saw 5 count of Deers while hiking along the mountain and the big hairy spider walking downhill....
Came eye to eye with 2 deers on a blind corner, they turn around and walk up the hill. Any tips if i walk knock onto a Bear?
So far the only creature i came closed to was a Racoon jump up from the trash next to me.

Really? 12°F? That has to be some kind of record low for this time of the year.

i checked my photo of the thermometer and that's what it read....but i suspect the thermometer might be faulty??? 'cos i googled weekend's temperatures and the lowest was just 28F
there was ice on our car though....in the morning

12 F in October? 12 C or 12 F?
32 F is = 0 c
F - fahrenheit la...i hadn't mistaken that for sure =)
temperatures were below 30F definitely...but not sure if it really went down to 12F as indicated on the thermometer. we had to scrap off ice from the car surface.
i spoke to some staff at the outlet mall...and they told me that they are expecting some snow over the next couple of days..and i was like "snow in october!?"....
thank goodness i live on the coast....i believe it's warmer than inland

U should get throws...they are nice...soft to hug...
There are warm sack for hands and feet. my wify has poor blood circulation so her hands and feets are always frozen.
did you check your furnace filter? if it is too dirty changed it. also make sure there are vent circulation to prevent carbon monoxide.
Snow is only nice if you don't have to go out like work....like being a student....if it snow at night we check to radio for school closed..ha ha ha...
Oh...its also time for steamboat meal....

just a reminder to you...when you are driving and if you have your windshield wipper on...it is a "LAW" to turn on the headlights. Even in the Day....

thanks for the tips. yes, i've been wrapping myself in layers of throws on top of my layers of sweaters....hahaha!
finally decided to turn up the heat this week before i freeze to death alone at home.
ya...i'm not complaining 'cos i don't have to leave the house if i don't need to. my poor husband has to leave by 7.30am and it's usually very cold during that time of the day.
YES!! i just bought a whole lot of asian pastes/spices online which includes tomyum soup and curries. ohhhh, i think those will be perfect for the autumn/winter cold.
i remember reading somewhere that you can use the rice cooker for steamboat? is that true? and how does it work?
