That's why it's a dream. lol. We never wanted to live in CA anyway. Oh well.
Did you know the sales tax in the next city over is 9.5%? Horrendous!
Oh and did you hear about the accident that caused Toyota to recall their car mats? Happened in my city. What a horrible way to go.
One more thing, in CA and MN, it's against the law to mount your GPS on your windshield.
maybe i shld consider moving to new hampshire where there are no income and sales taxes???
any of you folks in the states have already gotten your green card?

Yeah, I read about that incident with the runaway Lexus in San Diego. What I found strange was the fact that one of the occupants had time to make a 911 call instead of helping to find a way to stop the vehicle. Even with a stuck accelerator pedal, there are other ways to slow down or stop the car--putting the transmission in neutral, switching off the engine, pulling the handbrake, stomping hard on the brake pedal.
A tragedy though it was, the blame lies entirely with the driver.
DId you find out the hard way about CA's restriction against mounting GPS units on the windshield?

Re: Runaway Lexus.
It was a loaner car from the dealership I take my Outback to. yikes! So the driver didn't know the vehicle.
The driver was an off-duty cop who taught driving safety. Ironic. Anyway, with that particular Lexus, one has to to hold down the safety button for 3 seconds before the key can be removed. He tried all means he could think of but to no avail. The accelerator was stuck and they found out later that the rubber car mat was placed over the carpetted car mat which got wedged inbetween the pedal and the floor. He did put the car in neutral but he was on the part of the highway going downhill, in excess of 100mph. His wife, 12 year old daughter and bro in law were with him. We got to hear part of the 911 telephone conversation over the news and it is chilling.
Re: GPS
I bought another unit to replace my 4 year old one and found out that info by reading the literature.
