Comtemplating in migrating to Australia. Wondering if anyone can advise how best to find a job while we are still in Singapore?
Both my wife and I are in healthcare, I am in adminstration, while she is in HR. Both of us are not medically trained though... any idea of the demand for Hospital Admin in Australia?

TS. anything healthcare related in aus is in high demand. Cause got shortage of doctors and staff. But dont be surprised if you're being posted to some rural/ outskirt city hospital, ir healthcare centre.
to zxchan,
best you try at job agency with oz job dealings in spore itself.
as the oz gov n people only help n support their own people...dont be surprised if a 18 year old fresh aussie gal can take your same position in oz.the aussies help their own citizens first.and even their own citizens their seperate them to different categories of jobs.
in spore...PAP...just let in anyone and anybody from overseas to take and destroy existence of own sporeans.and the forign workers back out n decline a sporean citizenship when its waved before them like as if its a used toilet paper.THAT I WILL NOT SWALLOW N ACCEPT!
just be prepared to take a job thats not to your expectations initially,,some ended up as taxi drivers.....storemen.....n jobs u would probably faint.
oz economy was unaffected everywhere except the mining areas.
zxchan,
what did the healthcare organisations in oz rate your qualifications and experience as????did u send them n have everything evaluated ?
i know when oz healthcare ...they only need doctors.....nurses....PHARMACISTS...CHEMISTS
so far i have observed asian doctors, african black chemists which meANS they are short of those professions thus they are getting in foreigners.
nurses and people doing paperwerk are mainly whites
i have seen indian nurses doing the admin job as well as the multi task too.u would often see the nurse doin the computer admin n filing n then next moment she or they would be injecting you with medicine.....etc etc.
Exactly, Australian govt protect their citizens and their economy is as good as if not better than SG.
however,,,,,their industries belong mainly in the dinosaur age
Get PR or a visa that gives you work rights first. Otherwsie, most companies will not even consider your application unless you have exceptional talent.
Try seek.com.au. Usually companies will want to interview you in person before a job offer so you may need to fly to Aus for interviews, although there are some who might do it over the phone. Also in Australia, they actually do check with your referees checks so make sure your referees are reliable and contactable. Another tip is to change your resume/CV to suit the Aussie workplace. There are many information not required in your CV, e.g. DOB, race, etc. You will also be required to respond to the selection criteria in writing, not merely sending in your CV with a cover letter. Check out the Aussie employment websites - they provide tips on writing a CV and responding to selection criteria.
gohysteria's right - getting work rights is a much more sensible first step. Look here for some initial information: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/
