Killjoy. At least I'll have something to look forward to.

(Yeah, yeah, yeah... procrastination and all that... )
I just became an alien all over again. The office visit took all of 30 mins! Lucky me.
I have been thinking about the next step. Probs in a few years, after all my ducks are lined up.

Why wait a few years? You'll just give them an opportunity to jack up the application fee again. Get the process started ASAP so you can get through the waiting period sooner.

AAA credit union? Don't think I've ever heard of that but then what do I know? AAA offers credit cards, that much I know. Check out www.aaa.com? These days, banks want your money so there are lots of offers out there to be had. I'd keep clear of BOA because of their high fee structure. My pal in RI used to work there and she gave me the down low. Thank gawd for google or you'd be pounding the pavement or spending all your time on the phone on hold.
What you could do is get a card now and after a year of being a stellar customer, negotiate your APR. I did that and got a 2% drop.
There are lots of CUs out there offering different services so....

Nah, I've just plonked down $390 for this process and my ducks aren't aligned just yet. Thanks tho! The guy at the green card office who helped me out was even encouraging me to take up citizenship.
