For local you can basically skipped the tourist place unless she is out of states....what ethnic group? Korean? Jap ? Chino or white, black hispanic?
If your ideal date is movie and dinner than i suggest you go back to SG.
U need activities to have fun together...the key word is "Fun"....u are not going to go right into 3rd base smooching.....!!! "Girl just wanna have fun"
a list of things to do together...hmmm...but not really spending too much....that your parent start asking question....ha ha ha...
Here are some recomendations to consider........Good luck.
Dana Point whale and dophin cruise.....do it afternoon so that you can have it stretch to dinner. Make it a full day event....i think it is a great experience.
I like the LIVE TV Talk show....such as Jay Leno Show or Connan O brian....I think it would be fun and entertaining....and stretch to dinner. or club that have stand up comedy....
Explore Ojai valley in the day have dinner there and come back. ..(Its a long drive.)
Spend morning at Beaumount Pick Apple and lunch there for great Trip Tip BBQ and to die for Apple Pie.
Melrose I don;t have detail but there is a Thai Town portion of melrose that has great Thai food. and along melrose there are alot of hang out place, clubs etc and also a lot of nice gal to watch. Saw the TV programme Melrose Place....
The Glove is nice to hangout....is an Open Mall with a farmer market. ( U can eat your SG food there. Kinda of dish in your new friend a dish or 2 heeee! support your local singaporean biz )
Hollywood and Vine...and along that stretch.....just watch where u go alot of drugs and vice. Won't be able to bail you out...
Dinner Place by the Beach....
Redondo Pier has sit in resturant the one that is less fancy and after dinner you can walk the pier and hopefully Get your First kizz.....! (Don't go below the pier where people eat crabs and clams with hands that is for old folks like me)
Down Town long beach has a Fish Place or microbrew resturant great place to dine. Not sure what to do after that.
Ports O Call.....This place is at the tip of San Pedro it is a fishing port used to have a stronger European present ....It over look the entire Long Beach Port and ST Thomas bridge. Right now it is populated with Korean Seafood place and Mexican grill you pick your fish and throw it into the fire it has a LIVE Mariachi bands on Sunday morning.
You could do an early evening walk and follow by dinner at some nicer resturant.
Oh last but not least Queen Mary but I think it is pricy....other than the stupid ship which used to be free going up...now they charged.
To Add: Last but not least Solvang Village California....I hour drive.

My wify and her friends went for a walk and i thought they just walk around the city. Didn't know they when up to the wilderness park and they saw Deer....at 11:00 a.m....I told them they were forunate not to encounter mountain lion or Bear given that the fire had force the animal towards East.

Finally broke down and bought a Sony PlayStation 3 Slim from an online retailer recently. UPS delivered it today and I got it hooked up to the HDTV.
Now to order some games and Blu-Ray discs. Any suggestions?

Where else is more fun than Disneyland ? Get yourself a anal pass. Inside Disney/California adventure also got places to wine and dine.

what sort of asian culture is there here? walk around the live seafood section in alhambra's asian supermarkets?

mountainLA that area got so many place to go other than Alhambra.
Go to little India, little Saigon, Little Tokyo, Korea Town,enjoy all the various festivities throughout the year.
There is also huntington garden with a japanese garden very pretty. And a decent size Chinese Temple but remember to go inside the big courtyard.
Bring her go eat dim sum and order some interesting food for her if she is a food adventurer.
If she is the homely type.. then be a chef and cook her something nice lah !!!
BTW I charge consultation fee , this time got promotion.. so I no charge.

think my landlords also only bought over the place a few years back....so they declared to us that they weren't sure whether or not lead paint had been used prior to them buying it. as for asbestos...nothing said about that. how harmful are these substances? what are the symptoms if ingested? most of the houses are quite old...unless some of those very close to the water that were destroyed by hurricane and rebuilt
