same. I take 400 through there. I see constructions sites all around. Not fun de D:
you know one thing about Singapore....i mean i didn't realized this until i was back in the state side. But in Singapore there are all these buildings until i cannot see the horizon.
suntec city is nice with cool refreshing aircon,,,,,although i havent went back in years i think F1 will contribute to noise pollution in area now.marina south...i havent been there in me life...i know its hot n sticky mostly.spore expo is just so so.....just another monument.
strangely my craving for sg food has dissipated
There aren't many things I miss about Singapore, but sometimes, in the depth of winter, when I am so, so cold and daylight seems all so elusive, I think of walking around in shorts, I think of lying on a beach, I think of over-spiced foods. Then I think of Singapore and actually Malaysia.
In fact, It was so cold about two weeks ago when I was working outdoors that I made the snap decision to visit Singapore over xmas and new year.Quite looking forward to it in fact... BBQ Stingray, Sambal Kang kong, fish head curry and cheap cheap malaysia.
Can't wait as frankly, I am not a winter person.
this bike still around
i got one friend who bought it few years ago and we took it for a ride
its very uncomfortable for two big men to ride this
hair-raising experience
when i am out in the freezing cold eating my salad while waiting for class,
i think about sweating over sambal stingray and satay at chomp chomp...
and coke tastes really bad here... damn corn syrup.
omg i miss chomp chomp! hokkien mee from the old school stall at the back with lots of lard! screw generic mass produced drinks like coke, henry weinhards root beer is the way to go!
I'm feeling especially homesick of late....
I do miss home. Every beginning of a semester I look forward to the end. Rofl

i miss hokkien mee also. food in singapore is so cheap. can buy hokkien mee for SGD4. here a decent meal costs at least USD6 + tax and tips, about 10 liao.
Come back for holidays lah.
Book you into Pasir Ris Costa Sands Resorts for two weeks.
And eat your way up to Malaysia!

I m in philadelphia, north east. We also have Singapore/ Malaysia type food, but its in chinatown.
Today I had my lunch in the school dining hall, USD9 for food and a drink!
Seriously, things is Singapore is cheap and good. I dont know why so many people still complain. The subway here is not only dirty and smelly, but so expensive. Taxi even worse. USD12 for 10 mins ride. Plus need to pay tax and tips.
I hate tipping. Grrr!
I grew up in the 70s and 80s, so most of the things I miss in Singapore are no longer extant or in their original forms.
The price of progress, I guess...

no point getting a car here. i live in a city, so its basically bad traffic everyday. besides, insurance and parking is so expensive. its faster and cheaper to walk.
are you going back to sg this winter?
