Anyone currently in HK now..? I was watching this video , this hongkong stand up comedy about this girl he saw while queuing to go into a restaurant.. He described the girl mentioning 2 distinct phrases "chiu1 dai1 lan3" and "gan gao xiu".
I understood what "gan gao xiu" meant - 干笑
but.. "chiu1 dai1 lan3"..? Curious to know what it loosely translates to..
it means super dense. chiu = super (mando, chao?) dai = low (mando, ti?) and it's not lan. it should be pronounced as nan as in ability, so, nan = ability/capability (mando, nen?) (sorry, my hanyu pinyin sucks eh.)
this chap is the brother of lam san san. if u really like hkg stand up, you should check out dayo wong and cheung tat ming. both are great but i like dayo wong best. not only his contents but his deliverance. timing very apt.
the first quarter of this year, eric tsang and lam mung chong did a 2-men stand up. very good too. you may wish to check it out.
enjoy!
its dai lang... not nan
alternative is dai b
it mean super retarded.
