Are there specific reasons why you choose UCLA or NYU ? Like .. maybe your relatives lives in that area.. or your friends are studying in those institutes ?
You might want to also check out UC Berkeley for their Econs.
Recently.. they upped the requirements for mathematics transfer to CA universities.
So I suggest you take the maths placement tests.. and try to score as high as possible. The tests are not easy.
If you score well.. you will get placed higher up on the flow chart. If you don't do so well.. you will have to start at the lower rung.. that means it will take you longer time to get out of the CC and into the Uni of your choice.
Try to mix your lower division and GE classes within a semester.. because it will be painful for you if you do all the easy GE first.. and then attempt all the lower divisions at the end.
Good luck.

If you are going to go for Econs (pending financial resources) than i suggest you considered going higher than a bachelor.

hohoho... dude..Berkeley is not a small town or countryside hor... LOL !!!!!
most time... the suburb city are nicer than the main city OK ? But it's your preference lah......
I've got a feeling you've never been to USA before, yes ?
Well... if you havn't I suggest you take about 2 weeks to tour the various campuses.... you'd be surprise what you see is not what you've always perceived.
i went there once in 04, drove past the berkeley campus haha.dunno i mean i love quaint shophouses but i'd like to have some skyscrapers around, besides it makes for a better night skyline view lol

Well think about it....basic Econ is a generalist.
Hmmmm.........come to think of it thats what i said.......when i got my Econ degree..........that was 17th yrs ago.....inbetween there was 97 Asian financial crisi, dot.com burst. impact on 9-11, and now global financial recession short of calling off a depression.
Do you know how many corporate restructuring crap i gone thru......
If i were do it again i won't go for being a generalist.

Hey guys, I am moving to Santa Monica College too but will start this Fall. I was choosing between Pasadena CC and SMC.
Friends told me there's alot of distractions and indonesian politics in SMC. While Pasadena city doesn't look appealing to live in.
Anyone studied in PCC or live in Pasadena area before? Are there alot of Singaporeans in SMC?

Check online for Singapore clubs at various colleges. Even if you don't find many Singaporeans at your destination, broaden your horizons.

yeah look up for Vito the only different is that he started school in the summer. which is a smart move. (sometime they want you to take up 1 more english class u can clean that up in 6 week) by fall you get into General edu.
There is something need to understand, When u look at Los Angeles..it is basically a Mega City that stretch across the entire basin. There isn't really a distinct "isolated City" because resdiential area stretch on and on.
Pasadena -- Depend on which part of Pasadena. It is a nice area. So who ever told you that is flat wrong. Nearby Acardia is equally popular among oversea chinese. Any of these 2 places are wealthy folks living out there. PCC is equally a great place for those who is interested in USC. i guess. Caltech.
but at the end of the day still your grade count.
