Washington to L.A?

  Hello, would like to hear from peeps who are staying in USA/ been there before.

  Is there any train services running from Washington to LA? If yes, how much does it cost?

  If not, how much does internal flights one way cost?

  I just checked Amtrak's website, and they do have services that run from Washington, DC, to Los Angeles. It's a two-day trip and the one-way coach class fare ranges from US$250 to US$400.

  Airfare between Washington, DC, and Los Angeles vary tremendously in price depending on the carrier and intended time of travel. Your best bet would be to sign on to any one of the travel planning sites like Travelocity or Expedia to see what prices they come up with for fares between those two cities. You'll generally get the best price by purchasing a return ticket, as a one-way ticket is probably going to cost significantly more than half of a return ticket.

  If you mean WA state, I've done the deed. Very scenic journey but helluva long!

  GIsborn coach fare so exp?  I last checked flights was 87 Euro, but I'm not sure if taxes are included in that price.

  Jetta around how long is the journey? I've taken a 14 hrs train ride from beijing to Mongolia and it was madness, i swear my butt was going numb soon.

  Think the Amtrak trains are much more comfortable.  Though Ex.  If you book your trip on some non peak days, you usually is assigned a seat, but have a whole of 2 seats all by yourself.

  You really should go to the Amtrak website to see whether you might need to take buses in between portions of your full journey.

  And if you are asian like me, probably can slouch a bit and sleep on the two seats.

  I did most of the flights from Santa Ana Airport to Seattle Washington by flight.  Cos it takes maybe 2-4 hours instead of a two day's journey.

  I did the train journey from Seattle to Vancouver Canada, or San Juan Capistrano to San Diego.  Which was bearable because I have cash to buy food at the canteen, bought my charger to charge up the laptop and watched dvds, as well as listen to my mp3 or hokkien and cantonese songs.

  Took me 18 hours from SFO to Seattle. Go check out the Amtrak website? All prices are listed there. You can select a sleeper car if you like. I can't sleep in a moving train. I get bad headaches.

  I rather drive there than taking a train, esp if u are travelling with more than 1 ppl.
