When I work from home, I fix a quick lunch.....instant noodles with DoDo fishballs and shrimps.
Wow, streamie... is this what u called a "quick" lunch?! Looks so nice and presentable.
Is it Maggie Curry noodle?

Add me to the recipe reciever list.
i regretted not buying those chwee kway moulds from Singapore!
Those tiny tin ones and you use a ice cream stick to scoop out the chwee kway!
Sis found that she prefers the japanese radish pieces cos they are not oily. It would have been perfect with chwee kway!
wah! LS, your chwee kueh looks very good leh....!!!! how u make it? i finally learn how to make chicken rice but anyone got recipe for the chilli sauce? it just taste so different when i use normal chilli sauce... hmm....
just sharing a little incident... when my SO went to singapore with me last year, (he BBC, has not been to singapore since 20 years ago when his family visited some relatives in m'sia!) he loved the food there especially the satay and the chilli crabs... we were in a hawker centre once when he saw 'satay bee hoon'.... his eyes go big big n ordered a big plate of it... when the food came, he was digging into the bee hoon even b4 eating any of it... so i asked him why... he said that he is looking for the satay in the satay bee hoon! *pengz*
that pic just made me drool =X
Hi LS,

chwee kueh recipe:
okay, i am picking this off the air okay 'cos me ish in the orpid today.
radish
i opened up a standard pack of chopped radish. give a little rinse ar bo can be salty. i find it still bite pieces so i use the chopper and give it a little spin. remove. set aside.
in a saucepan, pour enough oil to fry your radish. according to that s'pore cooking book, u fry garlic then throw out when it's brown and use the oil to fry your radish. but i didn't. i use the commercially prepared minced garlic to cook with my radish. since i cook at moderate heat, it didn't burn the garlic. keep watch of your radish and cook for like half hour. when done, set aside.
for the four mixture. i need the exact measurement from the book. but here's what you need.
rice flour
tapioco flour
water - to first pour to mix the 2 flour
oil
salt
boiled water - to slowly pour into first mixture
arrange and steam chwee kueh cups for about 5 minutes. i do this randomly. ar gar ar gar the cups are hot, i poured in the final mixture. steam for about 15 minutes and wa la....your chwee kueh is ready.
stay tune for measure. i'll edit when i get home.
have fun and bon apetite~~~~

The sauce is to with anything from noodles, BBQ chicken etc.... Yummy!!
The preparation is coming along ok so far... I hope anyway. Will get the vegies etc on that day. It can be tiring, can't it. Hope everything goes well with your party!
BTW, happy 24th wedding anniversary to you and hubby!! I just started a thread for you. Hee hee...
sounds delicious already. it will go well with the noodles and bbq chicken. :)
yes, it can but i space out the preparation but i've done it for many years so it gets better. nonetheless, there's the shopping for games prezzies. and after that the wrappings. the preparation of other ppt material and stuff. then the grocery shoppings, the cooking and finally wala....the day of the party itself. i enjoy the process, really.
aww....thanks, i saw it. pai seh lah........but thanks! :)
