Im going to aus to study next year. Would appreciate any comments on the unis in Aus..regarding the courses, which uni more slack, which one has better reputation..
RMIT, Melbourne Uni, Tasmania,...etc?
and do u think its better to go to a uni with more asians? or with less asians? =x
doesn't matter.. you go there you learn..
also since you are there, you take the opportunity to live like the locals, to learn the culture and broaden your horizons..
this will be more valuable to you than anything, and will be an education in itself, more than the education you will be pursuing

Each uni has certain course they are popular for. It depends what course you are doing. Like what bear said, if you do come, come with an open mind and try to blend in with the local as much as possible.
compare the course and not the university...
Theres no difference in actually going to a uni with more asians or less asians. You go to Australia to study, right? Every uni is good depending on what you want to study and what you want to be after you graduate, i.e. your career.
For my uni at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), in my opinion I think QUT is better than UQ, GU and other universities. Well previously I have finished one degree at UQ last year and I am at QUT finishing off another degree. Each uni have their own specialities for certain people.
Since i was born in Australia, I reckon University of Melbourne is pretty good. It's hard to get in but if you like more asians, head off to Melbourne heaps of asians compared to other parts of Australia.
ANU is the best.
ANU. Otherwise you could choose University of Melbourne.
choose the ones in the Group of 8 or 2nd tier. u should be safe.
the anser to yr question is simple
Melb Uni, Monash or UniSydney.

why do u say that QUT is better than UQ? i will be taking a business course and im considering between this two unis..
actually u have to take these into consideration:
1) Research or Teaching Universities.
Depends on what type of student u are. If u dont like research and prefer studying style, then its not wise to get into research unis. Teaching unis will be better,
2) Subject combination
This is important as what type of subjects u wan to tudy. if u need a broad based learning style like in Poly, then get into courses which offer knowledge based subjects as opposed to specialised subjects. Examples of such are e.g statistics and mathematics like modules within a course is more specialised and focus compared to a module like Economy or macro economics
3) Unis with more asian or ang moh
this depends on u. If u go to a uni with more ang moh, u are expected to think diversely, communicate and come up with ideas. if u go too unis with more asians, the studying environment may be more tailored to asians.
4) Uni Branding
If u think the uni branding is important, then choose G(08) unis mostly the state unis.If u just wan a degree then choose 2nd tier
5) place of study
Places within australia like Adeliade, tasmania, Brisbane ect offer the same quality education at a cheaper rate and lower cost of living than capital cities like melbourne or sydney. The place demographics, culture and people also do matter.
