So sorry to hear about your plight. Everyone's racist to some extent but this is rather blatant, and I think they still don't give reasons for rejection as they're not obliged to, are they? But as one of us has mentioned before, you learn not to miss the food when you're unable to get it.
I can't really comment though I've dated foreigners...the relationships didn't get this far. But kids don't seem to mind moving around the world when they're still young.

Sorry to hear about your situation. That must suck. But as a warning please remember - if you move to a middle east country, your situation would probably be a lot worse than what he has to face in SG. As a female there, and a non-Muslim (? I have no idea what your religion is), it might turn out to be really really rough for you. If you are Muslim, it might be easier for you to blend in but in most places (except for Turkey and perhaps to a much lesser extent Egypt) it would be a lot stricter than what you are used to back home.

Yah when I asked them they said its their policy not to reveal, but one of his frens recently had some confrotation with the officers, they said they r trying to protect SG from terrorism. For those who r dating foreigners, they need to know all these esp if u r not willing to relocate....I hope I can adapt to live in another country, but before that I will continue to fight all the way.. Hope they have some sense of humanity.

If it is not qualification then they must have done a check on his family background or something else but if it is not too bad then you should keep applying until they approve it.I am in Japan where esle could a ninja be..... Kampung Eunos? Cheers!!

The Middle East has traditionally included Egypt, and other Northeastern African countries are also sometimes included. So the TS wasn't wrong in the first place! :D

To explain it... Egypt is an Africasian country. The Nile is often cited as the border between Asia and Africa and it runs right through. Egypt is also part of both the Arab League and African Union.

Sorry to hear abt your case.... I had a fren who managed to get PR for her hubby. Both did not have a degree. So I am not too sure if education level matters. And they have kids who were not born in SG.

So your friend applied for her hubby's PR in his home country yes ?
I notice it's easier for married couples to get approval when they apply from overseas.

While they are all in the League of Arab States, and of course you are right that Egypt lies in the African continent, there is no real geographic meaning to "Middle East" as the term is far too vague as to which geographical areas should be included or not. "Middle East" has been pretty much used as a term in more political/economic contexts.
In absolutely any site you search for Middle East, Egypt will be there. Turkey is also included, but it is geographically considered Eurasian, sitting on the cusp of Europe and Asia. The other Middle Eastern countries are pretty much in the Asian continent.
