Yo people, i really need some help on applying for a universty in canada. My grades in poly isn't really good, i was thinking if you guys got any idea which university is more interested in money making rather than the actual grading?
Or any university which isn't so hard to get in?
what are your grades like in the first place...??
if you failed everthing (or something close to that), then you won't have a chance at all...><
at the end of the day, a uni is a place for pple to learn...so no matter how much they want money, the students still need to be of a certain standard....
wow thats bad man.. i got a GPA like 2.2, i think i dun stand a chance at all man..
yup, agrees with udon. no matter which uni you land, you need to maintain a certain grade in order to graduate. otherwise you may be put on academic warning time and time and they only allow maybe one or twice and then out you go.
so, if u really wanna pursue a uni education, u gotta work at it. i don't know which uni will take in your $$$ and not your incoming grades. you can try to apply to some. you never know till you try, right? and if you get admitted, work on it to achieve your goals.
good luck and all the best. :)
thanks alot man, i need to find a uni which will take in me.. haha, what is the expenses like per sem, including school fees and all the other expenses?
oh i see.. i promised myself to work very hard if i m accepted but i m now really confused about the entry requirements, i have been to several websites but for singapore students requirement is always an 'a' level.. damn it man. I m losing hope right now.. do u know abt the expenses?

if u can set aside about C$20k a year, that's quite comfortable. let me see if i have the link to a site where they have the various unis in canada and their requirements. you can check your current grades with the requirements and see which you fit in. and then go to the site of the respective uni, check on fees and stuff. they usually give you a breakdown.
give me some time. i'll get you the link later, k? i wanna crap with fellow sgforumers first. kekekeke~~~

oh yah...for sure it's going to be 'a' level leh. u don't have? liddat how? u apply base on what neh?
alot of people apply for uni after their poly.. and quite alot got in even though their result isn't really wonderful, if any uni accept me now i will work so hard that i will be one of the top students. Why must i be LAZY last time!! thanks alot for your help man..
haha. email the uni with your grades. and see what they say.
just don't waste your money or time applying to unis like Uni of Toronto, McGill, Waterloo, UBC, U Calgary. go find the lesser known unis and try them. there are some that will accept students with a 60% grade 12 average. those will be your best bets....
P.S. with a GPA of 2.2 would that be A/B/C/D/E/F/etc in your school...??

oh izzit? hmm....i don't know ah. but udon has a great suggestion. why don't you email them first. 'cos every application will cost you $$$ whether you get in or not.
ooh...c'mon, don't chide yourelf liao. what is done cannot be undone. if u wanna look back, just reflect on your mistakes and don't do it again. and work hard. sometimes, opportunities don't always knock twice.
i'll get u the link later, k.
A GPA of 2.2 would be like a C in my school if i m not wrong, i m good in some areas but some modules pulled me down alot.. I can't find my cert.. need some time man.
sorry, the link i was thinking about is for ontario only. anyways, hope this one helps. this is canada wide. good luck in your research.
