hurrruuummmppphhh.....this topic is reminding me about eating crabs.
Those that the guys picked from the tank, throw them into a clear plastic bag and steam the bejesus out of them.
I didnt check the scenery so I can only guess its at those boat docking places at San Juan Capistrano, in between San diego & Santa Santa Ana?
We just bring newspaper, find a stone table with benches and pour out the crabs to be eat.
Eat finish, wrap the newspaper and the crab carcasses up to throw. Most people are civic consious enough to clean up after they eaten.
I remember that the crabs dont need scrubbing, not like our asian crabs.

Yes I could do that but a small durian in Japan would cost at least $S100 ...that is if I can find one.
A friend mentioned that she has a uncle in phillipines. He will shave off the thorns of the durian so the durian becomes a round ball, then wrap that durian ball in multiple layers of plastic wraps and post those durians to the relativees in Japan, Taiwan & USA.
And it looks like certain durian companies in malaysia are planning to do that too for exports.
Any kind of fruits and agriculture products are not allowed to be smuggled into certain countries but if there is a way then I would rather export 'Grass'.

I didn't think my family did anything like that until I realised that we drive 100 miles just to have Sonic burgers.
Are you guys guilty of anything like that?
Will apologies to The Proclaimers:
But I would drive 100 miles
And I would drive 100 back...

when in sd for work, i am based in rancho bernardo. i will drive all the way to the mexico border to the factory outlet to shop. it is a 60mins drive without traffic jam.
i once drove my colleague 2 hours from vancouver(washington state) to an outskirt area in oregon (forgot where) to a facotry outlet store becos we want to enjoy tax-free shopping.
coming from a guy, i know this sounds ridiculous. however, when in singapore, i wouldn't go beyond 2 mrt stops to do shopping. the nearest mall from my place is exactly 6mins by foot, or 2.5mins on a bicycle.
Uncle, next time you come, call leh. I'm in SD county.
