Please quote then.
The only part where I attacked him was when he didn't specify his USD 199. It was a misunderstanding, I stopped attacking after realising it was a misunderstanding.
He has continued on and on and on without any substance about me and my family, making gross conjectures.
My guess is that he could be a student in Canada, not a matured person doing business like he said he is.
Most immature students behave this way.
Seriously, I enjoy seeing him post insults after insults, words doesn't affect me that much. It's entertaining to see how far off all his insults are.
He can continue hurling insults instead of discussing what this thread was set out to discuss. I will entertain him, I have low opportunity cost.
I thought he was on an ego trip, but once his mistress speaks, he shudders and hide.
Some egoistical man that be.

oh, it doesn't hurt you at all ? .... I see you keep trying to come up with ineffectual retorts ...
I noticed that you like to play the wounded party when words fail you ... but it's okie, I suppose what I've written about your attitude has struck home ... if it makes you think and reflect bit, then I guess I've done something right ....

Yes yes, you are so right.
That's all?
Please continue.
I am sure you can come up with more.
There are only 2 possible outcome of this thread.
Haiz, looks like I have to come out and help streamie.
The both of you continue your nonsense in Speakers Corner.
Give me some face, okay?
Okay, not taking sides here, but thread originated as a discussion about Grocery Prices in Melbourne, and has gone seriously off track.
Let's try to stick to the subject of Grocery Prices in Melbourne, for the sake of readers who really are interested in Grocery Prices in Melbourne, and not iPod Prices in Australia, Singapore and The US.
If we cannot discuss about Grocery Prices in Melbourne in a civilized manner, then this thread has passed its expiration date, and will be dealt with accordingly.
So, let's get back to the business of discussing Grocery Prices in Melbourne. Can or not? I say can!

Grocery prices in all Australian capital cities are shooting up which can be attributed to the current oil prices.
Like these items I got last weekend, it cost me over $80 and it wasn't our full shopping either:
- 2 loaves of bread
- 3 tubs of Ski yoghurt
- 1 x 2L milk
- T-bone steak
- 4 x canned tuna
- 1 tub of icecream
- 3kg of orange
- some vegies (carrots, bak choy etc)
are there hypermarkets in melbourne that sell cheap?

There's this new store called Aldi, they have their own brands and things are cheaper than Coles and Woolworth (Safeway in Melbourne but about to change to Woolworth). I sometime shop there too..... but I would still prefer if I can shop and buy everything I need at one spot. Then again, I usually get the meat from Asian butcher.

Hey, what a coincidence! There are ALDI stores here in the Twin Cities too. I do not know what they are like elsewhere, but over here, they are more like expanded convenience stores rather than full-service supermarkets. The groceries and merchandise they carry are mostly their own house brands, and the prices are slightly less than what you would pay at a regular supermarket.
There are some disadvantages to shopping at ALDI, though. The variety of groceries is somewhat limited, they do not provide shopping bags (you have to bring your own), and they almost always have only one checkout line open at any time.
Oh, I forgot to ask: are grocery shoppers in Australia as coupon crazy as the ones we have here?

Don't think Aldi is as big as it is in the States. But I do agree with you, their range is very limited and there's only 1 checkout open. You also have to pack your own shopping into your own shopping bags. Plastic bags are not free.
Like the States, the Aldi here also sells some other stuffs ranging from PC to LCD TV. Not sure how good they are though.....

No.... coupons are not that common here..... not that I know of anyway....
I think the US is exporting this huge warehouse-concept kinda supershop over to Melbourne and Sydney. Honeymouse, can you remember the name of the warehouse?
The newspapers were discussing the pro's and con's. It will provide much-needed competition to the current supermarket chains, which might help to drive prices down a bit.
However, Aussies are new to the concept of paying for membership to shop at a place plus the bulk-buying is also not that common because according to The Age, Aussie households are used to buying groceries and essentials on a weekly basis.
Also, the location of the warehouse supermart - Docklands, was discussed as not quite ideal because it is right at the edge of the city where you'll definitely have to face traffic congestion during peak and sometimes even off-peak hours.
I remember tagging along for a shopping trip to Sam's in Tulsa, OK where I saw him lugging cartons of perishables to his truck! At that time, he was just buying for one - himself!
America is truly the land of huge excesses!

Sorry missy... can't remember the name....
Think the hypermart coming to Mel and Sydney is Costco....where one can buy in bulk. But one needs to pay for its membership though

could also be due to the drought or weather related issues that affect the produces. Even the prices of Chardonnay are expected to go up...Guess we just have to adjust to prices going up.
Maybe it might be a good thing, as it might lead to people consuming less, and not overeat.
