Getting from woodlands to balestier via public transportation is a nightmare.

OMG I need to read the forums more carefully these days
Hopefully we can catch up

Should be convenient now with the MRT and whatever links. Take MRT to Novena or Toa Payoh and take a bus there. If not, there is a Wee Nam Kee across from Novena Church
YOu know what I miss though? Charlie's @ Changi village. hmmmmmmm Chili dog......
i miss the Pasar Malams

Okay, I shall try the duck rice next time. Thanks for the recommendation.
I had the $4 "big prawn mee" and my mom had the herbal "ba ku teh" soup this time. Didn't notice the stall selling Thai food, though.
Are you working pretty close to the Longhouse?
Originally posted by jetta:MG, how well have you adjusted to the weather?
Not really. The nights are fairly cool and I can get by sleeping with a fan blowing, but the heat and humidity during the day are pretty oppressive--I'm still taking about 4 showers a day.

The Wee Nam Kee CR restaurant opposite Novena Church is pretty good.

I think I recall the prawn mee, but I am not a fan of prawn mee...I like the teochew fish soup there, and the duck rice
Nope, not Jalan Pemimpin. I'm closer to the Longhouse/Nam Kee/Thomson Plaza area.

The empty plot of land that was once Lakeview Market/Shopping Center. Upper Thomson Road is off to the left and the three blocks of flats are off to the right.

Thanks, jetta!I might be making a trip to Orange County within the next month or two to visit my sister. I can drive down to SD to meet you when I'm there.
hey how long r u going to stay at orange?

why i stay near there as well.

Do you remember the hawker center at Lakeview used to have a very popular stall selling prawn mee? It was right next to a stall selling you tiao.
I use to cut my hair at the lakeview market. Siri dewa.
Originally posted by jetta:I soooo wanted to live in those flats you know! But my parents decided to get one in s'goon north instead. I used to prowl Thomson Plaza too. I was shocked that Yaohan is no more. Each visit back, we have to eat at Nam Kee. Nam Kee rocks!
My family used to eat Nam Kee on sunday lunch. I also like the banana leaf indian house curry right across sing ming.
there was another chicken rice store in the past. That is nearer to Thomson Plaza. Had visited there a few times cause they gave quite big a portion

Vitamin M can easily be obtained as a byproduct of Vitamin H(usband).
