Firstly I have no idea of going to JC or Polytechnic and I thought maybe studying overseas might be the best option. However, I frankly have no idea of which part of Aust am I going to study after my O's and am unsure of the yearly school fees for Aust's colleges ( They didn't state it on the Study In Australia website or maybe its just me being blind ) and I need to know how much on average a month a college student spends. And I hope I can study up to University in Australia.
Please advice. Thank you.
International students usually need to pay more than the local students do in Australia. There are state/government schools you can go or there are private college like Taylors College in Melbourne mainly for international students. If you already decided what course you'd like to do at uni, it might be worth doing the foundation course. In Melbourne, there's monash uni foundation course and I believe there's one for Melbourne Uni too.
When I did the Monash Uni Foundation Course at Taylors College more than 10 years ago, it already cost me over $10k for the whole year. And that $10K was for school fees only. You need to take into consideration other expenses like:
- Accommodation
- Food
- Transport
- Private health insurance
- Text Books
So if you really want to spend the money to study in Australia, you will really have to work hard to make your money worth!!!
Good luck!
if you are a guy, you should be alright.
girls, no-no.

well, i never really spent more that 2k a month when i was in school in canada. that includes rent, food, spending money and i drove.
actually in contact with some students here in aussie, they live it up man, buying bmw's and the like... hmmm.
i kinda disagree with some of the comments here.
Did a foundation course (smth like Yr 12) in Aus after my Os and am currently in Uni. You definitely need to have discipline but then the course here is so much easier with what I had already learnt for Os. So almost all singaporeans i know manage to get either a high credit or distinction, therefore, enabling them to enter into the course of their choice in an overseas uni. I would say skip the As and do a foundation course because its definitely an easier pathway to uni.
p.s. not all overseas students turn into sex maniacs or do a 360 degree transformation :P
