don't know when I'll be back again ....
Yeps ... I'm returning home to Singapore this coming friday .... the past few years has been an interesting and exciting odyssey for me ....
I've camped in below freezing temperatures, got caught in a snow storm, survived -59 celcius weather, got drunk in a cowboy bar, experienced a working farm complete with warm cow patties, had run ins with flower children, memonites, red necks, rig pigs and biker gangs, drug dealers, welfare bums, vietnamese gangs, korean gangs, indian gangs, hell riders ... as well as kind and warm and gracious people whose kindness towards me canceled out all the pricks ... people who'd invited a lonely foreign young man into their homes during thanks giving and christmas, who guided me and helped me navigate a foreign land when I first came here ... and the assorted friends who has crossed my path here, Sudanese refugees still bearing the scars of their country, chinese dissidents, and chinese princelings, the swedish and german exchange students, the farmboys geniuses who've never left saskatchwan in their lives ... the cranky leftist pot smoking arts profs, the ladies whom I met, in german class, in calculus 221, in geology lab, my student in cmpt 111 tutorial, at the residence, at alexander's bar, at the Pat's, at the overdrive, and the hose and hydrant, in the natural science library, in the arts library, in comm 205, cmpt 405, and my TA in geol 211 ... fond memories all ... thank you ...
I caught trout, walleyes, perch, whitefish, pike ... witnessed auroras, ran over a deer (don't ask) ... ran over countless gophers (gopher suicides) ... swam in an icy lake, tanned on a nude beach (don't imagine it) ... survived a run in with a black bear ... trekked in the rockies, wandered around the coves of the pacific northwest, and the rolling prairies and fields golden with canola and wheat ... heard the wolves and the loons cry at night, got my piece of parchment, got a job .... got to see the best and worst of Canada, of humanity ...
and ..... as I feel that it's only appropriate that a mod of this particular forum be based overseas as well, I'll be stepping down shortly after .... to make way for

Sometimes i really envy what u have gone through...cos i might not even have the chance to get the 10% of what u have experience.

glad you have so many memories, fond and otherwise, to take with you from your stay over here....North America will be a lil poorer for losing you.

good or bad, it's all an experience which most will never get to have.
so bring that back and use it wisely
and have fun when ur back in singapore!!

I'm not sure about the driving bit ... have to get used to driving on the "right" side of the road again ....
but yeah ... I've been going around, visiting friends, re-visiting the places that has grown so familiar these past years ....
I'm going to miss driving along the rolling hills of gold in late summer ... I'm going to miss the late summer evenings fishing by the lakes, I'm going to miss the still silence of snowing nights, I'm going to miss the blazen skies of the prairie sunset, i'm going to miss the summers at friend's lakeside cabins, I'm going to miss the wild northern canadian shield country, I'm going to miss the sometimes incredible fishing, where fish lines up to commit kamikaze on your lures, I'm going to miss the fresh air and endless sunshine ...
but this is life, all good things come to an end ... the time has come, for me to move onto other things in life ...
and of course, I'd like to thank the people I came across in this forum as well ... may this forum prosper and serve as a networking point for singaporeans, (ex, honorary, or otherwise ) ... I'll still pop by now and then, and with my current plans, it's highly likely I'll end up overseas again soon, but probably somewhere in east asia though .....

Congradulation on completion of your study. I am sure u look forward for your next phase of ur life.
So what would be the single most value believe you bring home to Sg that you would with certainty not give in. (I did mine )
I am sure it will take u sometime to adjust back to city state but Eat on our behalf.
