wow....sounds delicious *imagining*Originally posted by Fatum:last thanks giving and christmas I made two smaller turkeys instead of one big one ....
the smaller ones are more tender (and cheaper !) compared to those gigantic mutant birds ....
I "tropicalized" the stuffing by adding apples and pineapples to the traditional stuffing ... and sweetened the basting sauce with some lee kim kee char siew sauce ....
it was pretty good ...
nope ... nothing this weekend .... other than going to mass ....Originally posted by littlestream:wow....sounds delicious *imagining*

Turducken ? it's not a breed.. It's a De-boned Chicken stuffed into a de-boned duck and into a de-doned turkey.. It's soooooo good when it's done right... Very nice and fatty.

Donna Hay's magazines are also very good !Originally posted by jetta:When it comes to cooking a big spread, I'm the Queen of cheating.
Green bean casserole is very easy. Just follow the recipe on the Campbell's Cream of Mushroom can. I promise you it's super duper easy. All my recipes for big holidays and such have to be easy. BTW, have you picked up Rachael Ray's new monthly magazine? My co-worker let me take her home to read and oh boy! What a treasure trove of easy recipes! You must read one if you haven't.
Back to your side dishes: How about buying some simple sushi rolls as well? You can also offer corn on the cob (cut into half for easier eating), chinese chicken salad (regular salad with cubes of fried chicken thrown in.) If you must have some turkey on the table, you can modify this salad and add cubes of turkey breast meat. I'll post more ideas as and when they hit me.
