(Wanted to ask some questions on gg overseas ma... overseas alone leh -.-)
It's a good place...but the city I'm in, Eindhoven, gets pretty boring (i think) in the weekends cos it's basically a Phillips/Student town A lot of parties, etc here...which gets boring after a while (machiam waste money just to ... interact 
)
Will be staying till January...where are u based???
Food-wise...ahem Dutch aint famous for their culinary skills

college towns are usually like that i guess nothing to do but party and get drunk on the weekends.....

We have 9 fires burning in various spots throughout San Diego county. They say that the largest fire burning right now was started by a downed power line. The Santa Anas are to blame since the strong winds pushed the power line over and that started it all. Many many people have been forced to evacuate and schools are closed for today. We are told to not report for work today to keep the roads clear for safety crews, etc. In my area, you can see dark skies but we have not yet been told to evacuate so we're staying put until we get a reverse 911 call or reports on TV tell us so. The media is saying that this is worse than the fires in 2003 that raged here.

Thanks udon. Things are not looking good here. The towns to the east of us have all been evacuated and the city has activated a reverse 911 system. My town is safe for now but we'll see what the new day brings. So far, we've been glued to the tube and it's just heart wrenching to see so many homes burn to the ground. This is an annual problem and so far 250,000 people have been evacuated. I don't live in navy housing but I'm close to the marine corps base and they have been told to evacuate. The winds are blowing from east to west so there is nowhere to go but towards the ocean. Damn weather has dropped to like 8 deg for the past few days la!
