Thanks for the heads-up, jetta! Unfortunately, there aren't any Costco stores here in the barren midwest.
However, as luck would have it, I was in Sam's Club this past weekend and noticed that they had 5 lb. tins of Kjeldsen's Danish Butter Cookies available at the same price of $10. The tins were the "traditional" blue, Christmas-themed ones. I wonder if they're the same as the ones you saw at Costco.
I'm very tempted to go back there to pick up a tin. FYI, Wal-Mart has the 1 lb. tins available just before Christmas at $2 per tin, so the unit cost works out the same... except after Dec. 25, when they halve the price to clear out their Christmas merchandise. Two years ago, I went back to the local Wal-Mart on Dec. 26 and picked up 20 of the 1 lb. tins at a buck each!

Posted this because I remember your weakness for the stuff. Unlike last year, this time I will be there to see if I can get in on the 1/2 price action. A buck may as well be free! These cookies remind me of Christmasses/CNYs past. Especially of the good old days when suppliers from Dad's work would send Christmas/CNY hampers to the house. We would get 4 or 5 per festive season. What fun we would have, just ripping the coloured cellphane and discovering yummies.... *off to memory lane*
I rarely go to my local Walmart. I find it a little dirty and dingy. Besides, Target is closer and Costco is just across the street. And I wonder why Costco has no presence in your area/state? *rubbing chin* Curiouser and curiouser. -
