not a kit, bought the parts seperately and assembled together myself.
experimenting with engine/battery layouts.
currently settled with these 2.
problem with the 1st layout is that there isn't much leeway between the batteries and the front wheel. should be there a situation where i had to brake suddenly, the diving action might cause the wheels to brush against the batteries.
layout 2 looks cramper but that's only because the engine mock up was placed slightly higher up forcing the batteries forward. there is actually a lot more space in between. problem is that with layout 2, i won't be able to have more than 2 batteries, while i might be able to squeeze in a 3rd battery with the 1st layout.
batteries are supposed to be angled to the right, but gravity is working against me at the moment. i'm also a little wary of ground clearance. is it too low?
good thing there are no road humps in japan.
eitherway, i will be making new mockups for the engine and batteries, i think they ought to be a little more to scale. besides that i also need to cut off some of the older engine mounts which are getting in the way.
this particular mount pushes the engine forward, i'm thinking of removing it totally. it's welded to the subframe which is welded to the main frame, which is going to take a lot of creative manuveuring.
hidden behind the battery is a mount i purposely left behind, thought i could use it for the trays or engine bay. will not be removing it yet till i have a better idea of the final layout.
this is where the controller goes. i could actually fit 1 battery in here, but i feel safer with the controller and charger in this area than having it in the tail.
