Heard about your Dad, it must be quite draining on you. Stay sprightly and God bless you and your folks.
I love doing those. A lot of places we go to, they like to leave us high and then slam dunk us in. I've gone as high as -6000fpm at 320 kts on descent. ATC's radar readout has a lag, and sometimes they can't believe what they're seeing and ask to confirm our altitude.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Expedited descent into Narita airspace. Notice the deployed spoilers and steep descent angle. EDs can be both thrilling and unnerving as the whole airframe shakes and roars during the rapid descent.
Indeed. Where's Godzilla when you need him most?Originally posted by Wanda:*cringe*
It was first designed (by ang moh FTs) and constructed without those spiky things. Then one day they realised: "Hey, Sg is a tropical country with lots of sunlight, we gotta cover up the dome". Hence...the ugly spikes.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Indeed. Where's Godzilla when you need him most?
That's a very relaxed calico (tri-coloured) cat (not a tabby) and always a female, and very intelligent.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:
And, apparently, very lazy too. She's usually seen sleeping most of the day, and only gets up to shuffle back to her owner's house when there's food out.Originally posted by Wanda:That's a very relaxed calico (tri-coloured) cat (not a tabby) and always a female, and very intelligent.
Well, cats are supposed to be nocturnal. She looks slim though, can sure get fatten up a bit.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:And, apparently, very lazy too. She's usually seen sleeping most of the day, and only gets up to shuffle back to her owner's house when there's food out.
Thanks! Credit should go to the camera (a Canon PowerShot S3 IS) more than the cameraman.Originally posted by Wanda:Well, cats are supposed to be nocturnal. She looks slim though, can sure get fatten up a bit.
ps: I'd just clicked to see the bigger cat photos....they are really nice, MG!
Bwahahahaaa!!!! You crack me up. Your EZ-Link card, not so EZ huh?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Thanks! Credit should go to the camera (a Canon PowerShot S3 IS) more than the cameraman.
In other news, I found out this morning, while boarding the bus to head to work for the first time since getting back here, that the EZ-Link card does not work here. I had forgotten to switch the cards in my wallet after getting back.
Yeah. On boarding the bus, I touched the card reader with my wallet, like I usually do, but instead of a friendly beep, I got a loud buzz and a 'Misread' error flashing on the display. Took me a while before I realized what had happened.Originally posted by jetta:Bwahahahaaa!!!! You crack me up. Your EZ-Link card, not so EZ huh?

I was rushing to fish out $2.75 for the cash fare, but the bus driver was familiar with me, and let me on without paying anything. We'll see if that's the case this evening, on the return trip with a different driver.
Actually, truth be told, the in-flight service on the NWA flights both to and from Singapore wasn't all that bad. Which is even more surprising when you consider that the airline is still operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.Originally posted by ben1406:eee ! NWA ! Ah, so they use something similar over there in MN?Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Yeah. Yeah, the transit operators here also use a "smartcard"-type thingie similar to Singapore's EZ-Link card, called the MetroPass. The fixed monthly fee of US$20 is automatically deducted from your paycheck, and you can use the MetroPass for unlimited rides on the buses and trains anywhere in the Twin Cities. Not a bad deal actually.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Ah, so they use something similar over there in MN?
At least you had a great bus driver. I'd think if it happened here.. the guy would be quite the havoc monster.
but it hurts to sit on their seats.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Actually, truth be told, the in-flight service on the NWA flights both to and from Singapore wasn't all that bad.
