... to the US, that is. I'm typing this at one of Changi Airport's free cybercafes, waiting for my flight to depart at 0600HRS.
For reasons both within and beyond my control (mostly the latter), this trip has not been enjoyable, and I'm actually looking forward to returning stateside, even if it's winter there.

Well, WELCOME HOME!!!!
I don't know about MN but Toronto has been blessed with a really mild November. We have been getting double digits and I can't believe I am only wearing spring jackets. Even last night driving home, the mercury reads 11 deg C. And we are expecting 16 deg C tomorrow!!! Aaahhhh.....Life is indeed Good.
Anyways, I am looking forward to your pictures. I intentionally took pictures of the aeroplanes/airport for you. They are posted in my Back in Toronto thread. My sisters thought that I was so bored that I took those pictures. Hee hee........well, the truth is out now eh?

Economy class ('cattle class') of the NWA 747-400 during the Minneapolis-Tokyo leg of my trip to Singapore a few weeks back.
At about 41,000 feet somewhere over the Aleutian Islands, en route to Narita.

Random skyline shot, taken from... um... somewhere along the Esplanade.
Outbound from Singapore after a 6 a.m. departure. Our plane (an Airbus A330) had to skirt around the towering thunderheads during the climbout, making for some very impressive views of the approaching storm.
Expedited descent into Narita airspace. Notice the deployed spoilers and steep descent angle. EDs can be both thrilling and unnerving as the whole airframe shakes and roars during the rapid descent.

PS. My M.O.L. called to say it's fuh-reee-zing in Seattle. They are under a blanket of snow. My B.O.L. hasn't been able to make it home the past two days because they live up on a hill and the road is covered by six inches of snow. *psst to streamie* Now I know where the Canadian snow is.

Dad's not doing good healthwise, and that's one of the reasons for this trip not turning out well. Anticipate I'll have to make another trip back fairly soon, when the inevitable happens.

At least snow in Seattle is a very rare event, and whatever accumulates on the ground, doesn't stay there long, even in winter. I'd trade a Minnesota winter for a Seattle winter anytime.

I took a bit of a risk taking the picture above of our final approach into Narita, as I was seated in an exit row, with a flight attendant seated opposite and facing me. By law, all personal electronic devices have to be switched off below 10,000 feet, but she didn't say anything though, so I snapped away.

MG, I hope that your Dad is as comfortable as possible. How is your Mother holding up? This has been a year of loss for both sides of my family. My mother's older sister passed about 3 months ago and hubby's Grandaunt passed two weeks ago. Now his Grandmother is asking us to consider moving back up just to be closer to family. That's not good news. I hope your dad's condition improves and he's able to return home soon.
