No kidding! This is what we term an Indian Summer, wherein we get a few last warm days late in the season before being socked with the winter cold.Originally posted by littlestream:Hee hee..........yah, I tot so too but I am still surrounded with greens. Ahh...hope to see some interesting colours on my trip.Originally posted by Fatum:depends .... some trees are going botak already ....
I find it the seasons a bit depressing ....
it reminds you of your mortality, how ephemeral life is ... maybe that's why old ang mohs love to run off to the tropics ...
post grad blues perhaps ... a certain snotty university out in the east I was hoping to get into for grad studies just rejected me ... ... they wanted those kind of insane averages only a no life nutcase genius or an einstein can have ... sigh ... I knew it was a long shot anyways ... grad studies is insanely competitive anywhere ... perhaps it's a blessing in disguise, i'm not sure how things would turn out for me a couple of years down the road with a masters but zilch job experience ....Originally posted by Wanda:Ahh...hope to see some interesting colours on my trip.
Why so melancholic?
There is always spring forthcoming, when everything blooms, regenerate, and there is new life again.
Clique, clique...but the glass can be half empty or half full.
It definitely won't be a bad thing to gain some work experience before furthering your studies. If I had known, I would go out to work for a few years before doing my degree...but I didn't know any better, and everybody followed the herd instinct.Originally posted by Fatum:post grad blues perhaps ... a certain snotty university out in the east I was hoping to get into for grad studies just rejected me ... ... they wanted those kind of insane averages only a no life nutcase genius or an einstein can have ... sigh ... oh well ... but it IS depressing sometimes ... when the day gets shorter, a chill's in the air, and everywhere life is dying or running away to the south ... and one is all alone .....
no worries ... with SO by one's side, fall would be the most romantic time you can imagine .... bought the jackets already ? ...

I know it can get pretty lonely and down, and I hope things get more cheerful for you. How about gathering with friends/ Asian counterparts who aren't running away down south?
I have my coat and corduroy pants, and SO decided to pad on thicker sweaters/fleece with his parka. We did have a look at the Nautical shop (at Marina Sq), and also found winter coats under the Columbia brand at "Outdoors" shop....they start at $350+. It's definitely easier to buy for women, coz the UK/Europe brands have unleashed their autumn/winter collections upon us...if only we can wear them here.
