How far of a drive is Lake Simcoe from TO? Will your family and you be staying overnight there?Originally posted by littlestream:Thanks, MG. I guess as long as I'm indoors, I should be alright.
We drove up to Lake Simcoe yesterday to scout for picnic spot. Found a couple of beaches with facilities. So, we are going up there again this weekend. Actually, the only thing I am excited about the picnic is the prepration. The sandwiches, the snacks and the barang barang. I doubt I am doing any sun exposure sports.
And you? Any summer plans?
There are just too many lakes around here. This one is just about an hour away north. I like the drive on the secondary highway 'cos I get to see the farm animals, the corn fields, fruit farms but I ain't going fruit picking. Once we passed a turkey farm....oh man......a field of whites. And no, we will not stay over.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:How far of a drive is Lake Simcoe from TO? No concrete plans for the rest of summer. Depending on how the situation in SG goes, I might have to make a trip back there on short notice. Assuming the best, there's a strong possibility of another visit to Seattle.

No kidding! The current heatwave and dry conditions have sparked numerous forest fires up north near the Canadian border. Fortunately, the wind is blowing from the south, so all of the smoke is drifting into Canada.Originally posted by jetta:Today's paper confirms it. All of North America is experiencing a heat wave.

It did cool down slightly yesterday, though. High was only in the lower-90s.
This is payback for the all the smoke from your forest fires earlier this year that was blowing into MN and causing all sorts of haze problems here. Ain't revenge sweet?Originally posted by littlestream:
