Help! I'm Melting!

From this frikkin' heatwave we're having, that is...
For the past couple of weeks, we've been experiencing daytime temperatures in the upper-80s, with high humidity. Now, according to the latest weather forecast, we'll be pushing into the 90s and possibly even the 100s over the weekend and into next week, with heat indexes well above 100°F.
To make matters worse, we haven't had any significant rainfall for nearly three weeks now, and it is expected to remain dry all through next week. Municipalities here have imposed watering restrictions, and lawns look more brown than green.
This is dangerous weather. Unattended seniors living alone in unairconditioned dwellings have died from the heat. People falling onto the sunblasted blacktop have received burns on exposed skin on contact.
I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I'm wishing for the return of winter just about now... -
I guess its due to the effects of global warming and other stuffs? 20 yrs ago the weather in SG was quite ok, 10 yrs ago it was acceptable. Its a vicious cycle of using air conditioners, refridgerators, etc.
Pray for the discovery of cold fusion?

WELCOME TO TORONTO, friend
It has been nice and it rained the couple of days. But heatwave will be waving at us this weekend. We gonna get scorching sun and humidity index that will make us feel like 40 deg C. I AM NOT looking forward to that!!!
Yeah, like you, I will soon be singing "Bring back the winter!!!"
And guess what? From driving along the vertical route, my left arm is getting a tad brown whereas the right arm is still fair. Soon, I'm gonna get that Darth Vadar visor.
Anyways, take care, MG. Don't get heat stroke!!! Get cool but conserve energy too eh. You don't wanna have another power grid failure. Remember 2 years ago!!! THAT was chaos!!!

Global warming is all well and good, but can't we restrict its effects to just 4 or 5 months of the year, say, from November to March?

What tickles me is that humidity here isn't high. Hardly ever do I break out in a sweat when I'm outdoors doing yard work.
It is dry out here though. I'm so tired of seeing brown vegetation and ground cover. That forest fire is far far away from us here but with things so dry out here, all it takes is another spark or an idiot. -
