we got a few minnows and plastics, but the action turned on at night after dark when we switched to live leeches on slip bobbers .... but yeah, you can see a bunch of soft plastics and jigs in my tackle box ...
the 5 pounder was caught on 6 pound line on a single hook ...
going fishing again tonight, there'll be a repeat performance ... -
went to a different place tonight, with another friend, a school of walleyes found us, and fishing was hot for a while, kept four that swallowed the hooks and released the rest,
performing post-mortem on one of the walleyes at my friend's digs
friend's kitty eyeing one of my fishies .... cats are evil ! ...
the fish's around 3 pounds, and the cat's severly overweight ! ... -

Okie .... pics of my trip to a friend's cabin .... no fish pics yet cos they all have my grinning mug in it ... so that'll have to wait while I photoshop things ..
had to drive through a big swath of rural saskatchewan to get there, and it's tickling to stop at those one horse towns for gas and they'll be oogling at me cos i'm the only chinese chap there ...

got a nice rainbow trout, around 3.5 pounds on the scale, on a brown leech pattern fly, tied with grouse hackle from skiddy .....

pictures not coming yet, cos i lent my camara to a friend for a trip to calgary, it should be back by the time I'm cooking the fish though ... -

reminds me of a freak fishing incident where the strong wind caught me off guard and literally threw me off the jetty.

went to Lake Diefenbaker to fly-fish for rainbows ....
my friend caught one 3 pounder (pictured here before cooking), and I hooked but lost an estimated 5 pounder that snapped the line ... it was a bit too windy to be fly-fishing anyways ....
Caught on leech pattern flies tied with feathers grouse wings kindly sent to me from Skid ...
