Overseas voting

What are the qualifying criteria for registration as an overseas elector?
In addition to having your name in the Registers of Electors, :
(a) you must have resided in Singapore for an aggregate of two years during the period of five years of being away as of the cut-off date of the Registers of Electors; OR
(b) you are - (i) on full-time training or full-time service abroad as a member of the Singapore Armed Forces, or as a public officer or an employee of a Singapore public authority;
(ii) on full-time training which is sponsored by the Singapore Government or any Singapore public authority;
(iii) employed outside Singapore by an international organisation of which Singapore is a member, or any other organisation designated by the President under the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore; or
(iv) the spouse, or a parent, child or dependent of a person referred to in sub-paragraphs (i) to (iii) above.
The above are provided under section 13A(1)(a) and (b) of the PEA.

What's new?The MIW think that overseas Singaporeans don't vote in accordance with the spin they never get the chance to listen on the state media.

1) 2 out of 5 = coz they dun wan those that really got way to leave sg for good to vote coz they know they will not vote for them
2) only government linked ppl can vote = u are working or link to they and since u have to register to vote and the vote got serial no. do u think they dare to vote against them.... no like those employed by private company.. they vote against them also wont get fired what.. the most is dun come back lor.. -

ddin even know about all these rules.... thought as long as u singaporean, can vote liaoz.... piang..... but thought the whole election thinggy should b about singaporeans wanting to have a say in singapore politics.... even u r residing overseas.... if overseas singaporeans whose hearts are still with singapore cant even have a say, it is then not us who 'quit'...... but us being 'pushed away'.... home is where the heart is..... i believe that people leave singapore for various reasons..... not all are so-called 'quitters'.....
